Other comments will follow, have patience, as it might take a few days for members to view it. While you are waiting for responses, I recommend that you read at the very top of this Newbie Coin questions area the thread entitled, 'What you need to know before posting coins for enquiry'. You will enjoy it and will help you on your future coin world journey. 

GBrad, you need to check in more frequently. You're talking about the old Hog, not the new Hog. Advancing quick, he'll be publishing a book by at least 2027. 

 A Wild guess, AU55.  With my track record, that means it's probably MS63. Nice coin either way. ---  Thanks for posting this and the last few, liven it up a little around here.

 Cleaned at some point, AU 53. Since I'm 0/1000 on grading, probably. XF45 or AU55.

 Everyone notices different identifiers, but for me I can tell from the shape of the '2' from across the room.

 All I can think of is humorous reasons. San Fran should have plenty of sawdust, so it must be sawdust from trees around the Pa. area that are special, so I'll go with zadoks idea, to dry wet blanks or similar. MS gold has too many marks on them to have been protected.

 Sandon, on your #3 above, you said that many of your coins including some rare ones are ungraded and will probably remain so. I have two friends that think the same as you. One friend in particular, I suggested he get several of them graded just so people will know that there are more 'survivors' than previously known. He won't budge. I mentioned that any coin individually worth over 100k should be graded at least for insurance purposes. No, he won't budge. So, that's that. 

 If you recall what you read in the 'what you need to know before posting coins for inquiry' thread at the top, you have to post pictures of both complete sides of the coin, obverse and reverse. 

 If Six Mile Rick doesn't have those two, then I surely don't. LOL. That said, I'll go get my five gallon bucket of dimes and look for those two dates and go from there. Possibilities are next to none, but I'm energyless today with nothing to do but that, not to mention hopefully help out a man that has contributed so much to our numismatic community. I wish I  had a graded example to give to him for free, but I don't. Here I go.

 My best find, I thought, was a 1931 S cent from the Sonic drive through one night. I proudly posted it but the S was added on, a fake. I super glued it on my doorbell button.
