It pains me to use this term, but, go to the PGCS home page, -resources,- at the bottom of the page is the photograde option. Pick your coin. I'm glad I could tell about the photo grade, but I'm really not qualified to give a grade opinion yet like I did above. I thought others would've chimed in by now, oh well. You and I together can use our imagination, probably end up MS69 proof by the time we discuss it! Your dad is a lucky man.Later......

My two photograde cheat sheets didn't include the twenty cent piece, but I stared at coins closely with the same obverse and reverse features so long that I need a nap. I'm seeing 35 to 40, but, the weak strike issue is one where I think they have a slight forgiveness on grading, so I think your right, maybe XF45. I wouldn't even give my newbie opinion, but I put a full hour into it, so there it is. The REAL evaluators will follow shortly. PS.. Take care of that 1880 S lady!

RWB- I didn't have anything to do with Penkovsky, I'm an NGC man for life. Even if I wanted to, the thought of execution is enough to keep me away from PCGS, way too expensive. kbbpll, I thought you meant an E-book. Guess I'll check out and see what else they have. Thanks...

thanks kbbpll, I joined on your recommendation, going to ANA site now and look up the Barber papers. Since I am an old hippie, I am curious to what color those Barber papers are anyway, and if they're flavored and what not....

Well, I'll say it, "keep the pictures coming" FTW. We're having fun. Thank you FTW!

Thanks JKK, the perfect page. It's not a chore now, it really is fun.

That said it all, it saved me a lot of work. If you ever need a 'severe Texican slang with a pronunciated street drawl' translated, let me know, I'm well versed. You da maaaan hoss.

Thanks, never mind, you answered what I needed, I'll figure the rest out on my own. Feel like I might be cheating with too much information, and Sister Theresa Marie is going to whack me on the cheek with her ruler. The marks are gone on my face, but I still fell the pain after 60 yrs. I never cheated again. Here I go....

That was quick! Curious, did you know that right off hand? I beg to ask another question before I delve into it all by my lonesome, but is there a mint date somewhere on it or was all that answered in the description you just gave? I seriously don't know if the 1880 is the MD or it's 1880 celebration or ...

Found some more coins, Canadian, Mexican and Central American, English and Irish, etc... All were fairly easy to look up, a kangaroo is a no brainer even for me. I didn't have such luck with the Asian coins, they don't have an easy identifiable face, and had no luck with coin explorer or world coins, most likely because I just don't know how to use it properly. Would someone tell me what this coin is, so I can continue from there? Thank you.

As usual, I proof read after I hit submit. Yes, there was a couple of questions in the middle of all I had to say. Thanks for deciphering through it. Greenland, I was just speaking in general, not any particular Morgan, I scroll thru them all every day. Unbelievably, I've never bought Anything off of Ebay, but thank you, I know you all have bought many coins and recognize a lot of sellers, ratings, etc...kbbpll, that's what I wanted to hear. Thanks. The 8 or so of you are amazing help. I don't know how you all do it, the same over and over (here we go again) questions. There's someone being born right now that in 20 yrs you all will be nicely answering their newbie questions, showing the small date graphs, finally Vk will say spoon it, and just say please read this. Maybe might get a 4 week vacation out of the deal. Anyway, brevity has never been my strong point, Thanks to all. (just kidding Vk)

I'm becoming somewhat infatuated with toned coins, didn't think I would, but sure enough, after going through thousands of pics on the 'Follow Me' and 'Most Recent' threads, etc..., those toned Morgans on Ebay are getting tempting. I haven't bought any coins from there yet, paranoid of scam rip offs, not to mention I'm just learning, and everything I learn this week makes me laugh at what I thought I knew last week. I see so many overpriced coins. There has been many beautiful Morgan 'toners' on Ebay, but I'm not going to jump in yet. When a Morgan is heavily rainbow toned on either the obv or rev, but no toning on the other side, isn't that highly unusual? I know not impossible, but do you think I should stay away from those? I'd hate to pay $200 for a $60 piece that's been artificially toned. Like I always say, so much to learn. H-, there might be some Versace/ Andy Warhol secret initial things going on with 'toners' that I don't know about. Appreciate the help.

GF1969, you sure mention those 1933 DE's a lot. I see all of your comments all over the place, so I know you know your stuff.. You've gained a lot of admiration from me. I've got 2 bedside novels and one audio novel going on now, but I'm folding them up and looking into the 1933 DE's, you've peaked my interest for sure. I love that stuff, just haven't got that far yet, and I am getting RWB's latest book. Thanks. And oh yes, I understand the anger at ANA, it's been over 30 yrs since the Exxon Valdez oil spill and I still won't buy Exxon gasoline to this day. LOL

kbbpll, I can't think of another word that tops 'spectacular', so yep, that's what that fifty cent piece is.

The 67 makes all my other 64's look not quite as nice as they did. Maybe I should trade you?
Lol. How thoughtful, but no trade. I probably won't have another Morgan for quite a while, and my 1880 S AU50ish has adapted to being lonely. Your MS67, because she took care of herself, deserves the social life of being surrounded by all the other beauties, stared at, talked about, even beauty contests. Solitary confinement just doesn't happen to the ms67 elite! She and I will be watching you all.

Lol! No! I'm saying of you can actually see the 43 has been struck over by another date
I knew I shoulda waited.

I know I should wait for the experts, but,..I'm sure you already know it's not real. The 1943 copper/replicas (fake) sell on websites for $1. If you already have one, then it's used, so I'd say about a nickel, maybe less. Unless it's red, then a dime.

Truly Clean, when I showed my 1880 S the photo of your 1880 S, and she saw the beautiful MS67 that she could have been, she just hung her AU50 head. She knows she never should've gotten on the back of that motorcycle.

I turned a little over $180 face value worth of coins found roll searching into over $9000.
Congrats Moxie 15, you must be good and lucky $180>$9000. I've searched about $800 fv of lincolns last 3 months and found hardly anything. Thought I'd found some CAM'S and WAM's several times, only to lean back up and realize I'd been looking at the coin next to it. All look dbl eared and dbl eyed after 4 or 5 hrs., time to give it up and go to sleep. The only die crack I'm going to see.is in my house foundation if I don't get a dolly and wheel some of these pennies out of here. Keep up the good work.

Found another coin, this time in the bottom of a box, 3/4 way wedged underneath cardboard flip at the very bottom. Box didn't have coins in it, just other handmedown stuff, so this was pretty exciting! Turned out to be a common 1880 S, up close looks like it's been in motorcycle wreck, no toning etc., so not worth grading, but hey, made my day!
