Greenstang got a reaction from TON Collection in Gold 1860 Indian penny?
Looks like it was plated. Not even sure if it is genuine, maybe one of our IH experts can determine that
If it is genuine, then it was done after the coin was minted so it would be PMD.

Either PSD (Post Strike Damage) or PMD (Post Minting Damage) are correct and your also correct.
To help you in determining if a coin is an error, it is just as important to know what is not an error. Any dings, scrapes, flattened letters, scratches, gouges etc. are all considered damage. It is only an error if it happens during the actual striking of the coin. To see what an actual error is, I suggest looking through the following  site "error-ref.com" to see what real errors look like. This is just one of the sites available for recognizing errors.

Looks like you have a couple of things going on.
You have the obvious die cracks  with one forming a small die chip on the end, the marks on the N O are die gouge marks.
Between the copy and the rim.and you have what looks like DDD

Those raised marks are plating bubbles. Eventually they will increase in size and break then zinc rot will set in. I think that is what is on the G also.
I don't see any doubling on the first nine.

Not a weak strike. a weak strike would affect the whole Obverse.
    It's what's called a  "grease filled die".

    I agree with Just Bob.
When I saw the first two pictures, I thought the mark was raised but looking at the third picture you can see that it is incuse so probably some sort of a small struck through. More than likely a bit of grease.
You can add it to your collection if you want until a better one comes along but this one is so small that there probably wouldn't be ant premium to it.

There are no errors on that coin. Just some minor damage. What you describe is impossible to happen during the striking of a coin.
It is known as called Pareidolia, seeing something that isn't there.

    Welcome to the Chat Box-
Errors, damage and contact marks on Mint Coins are the same as those on Business Strikes.
The only time an error can occur is during the striking of the coin, anything that happens after that is damage.
If you could provide clear pictures of your coins of concern, somebody here will be able to identify whether error or damage.

Don't waste your money sending it in, it I not an error.
It is environmental damage. I have seen this quite often. You can even see in the high areas where there is nickel showing through.
It can't be a dime on a copper planchet as a copper planchet would not fit in the collar of a dime.

Gotta agree with Conder101 on this one.
The fact that there seems to be no apparent damage to the field or devices of the coin under the strip indicates that it is something on top of the coin, probably glue.
You could probably remove it or giving it a acetone bath would also remove it.

How can you tell it's brass. Did you have it tested?
The only difference between brass and copper is the amount of zinc in the alloy which cannot be determined without testing.

That looks like two different acronyms.
The Ag stands for About Good, which is a grade 3. The Pr  stands for Poor which is the lowest Grade but is usually known as PO.

Greenstang got a reaction from TON Collection in What happened to this 1946 Lincoln cent? #Dated face
It is PMD but exactly what happened may be hard to tell unless you were there when the damage occurred.
One thing for sure though is that it did not happen during the striking of the coin.

    Can't be a proof.
Proofs were only struck at the Philadelphia Mint.

Sorry to burst your bubble but neither one look like a 1943 copper cent.
Did you give the magnet test to the top one? It looks like some of the surface has been scraped off exposing the steel core.
The second one is copper but has been altered to look like a 3. See how close to the rim it is.
