  1. Yes GBRAD is correct, they send them out when you renew membership with Partners Club. I have a few of those but haven't renewed membership in almost 5 years LOL.
  2. Hello all, I have started a custom collection on the registry named "Morgans & Peace Dollars. I would appreciate if an administrator or one of you veterans could see if I'm on the right track ? I apologize for my naiveness for this platform - blame it on my age LOL v/r Leroy
  3. Wow Thanx sounds great ! Appreciate your help and please have a safe, blessed Holiday season
  4. I was wondering if the experts can tell a newbie about the Registry. What are the benefits and hassle of creating a registry ? Do I have to upload all photos or just PCGS coins ? Thanx for any information
  5. Thanx Mohawk - that would save a lot money. Fortunately, they are all NGC and PCGS but that advice applies to a few ASE's 70s I got to complete that set from ICG . Thanx to you RWB about the CC and S ( I'm looking for the CC's now but I realize only low grade would be in my budget)
  6. Hello coin lover's and experts, I have a real "newbie" question I really have appreciated all of the advice and input (even the "head-shot" about me having more money than sense LOL). I also understand that you buy the coin not the holder and the fact of grading and shipping are expensive but I'm thinking of grand-kids being able to get a fair price down the line without having to understanding the hobby. My question is :: Would a set be easier to sell if it's all graded by the same same grading company (i.e. NGC or PCGS) ? I have a complete Morgan and Peace set all MS except 1890 to 1894 but they are mixed grading companies. Thoughts (and be gentle LOL) Leroy
  7. Thank you so much for this advice / information. VKurtB is "spot on" - I guess my reseach needs to focus on release dates: mint sells out before I know about new coins LOL But when buying older coins, I must either develop a local relationship or deal with retail markets - correct ? The hobby is a business and collecting becomes very disappointing. Happy Veteran's Day Tony fellow vets !!! Thanx again for all the input
  8. Thank you for the advice. I truly receive it, and its not I have more money than sense - its I'm trying create a collection for my grand-kids at an older age therefore they won't spend their inheritance on a hobby that I could start for them. I wasn't watching the prices of "pre-order" for these coins from the mint.. All I see now is what's on Ebay, JM Bullion, and other retail outlets. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanx again
  9. I said I was not going to indulge in the new Morgan and peace considering how much I spent to create original sets of both (PS thanx for all the advice "that its not the time to get into Morgans" but I didn't listen LOL). Well my compulsive behavior has grown in the 2021s. I see a set of MS 69's all mint marks (6 coins) for 1000.00; is that a reasonable price ? Or should I just get one peace and one Morgan and be happy? Any advice is appreciated
  10. Thanx again for all of the advice and the Good News is I've sold 2 of the 3 in about 3-4 days on ebay, and I was able to get very close to AU and UNC prices for the coins - not a total lost. Now I just have to continue to look for these coins in the desired grade for my personal collection
  11. I'm sorry Alex in Pa , you are correct - there are some good ones (like me) and I still buy and sell on ebay sometimes but I look at a person's rating before I react. That's good for me but others can't develop a good rating if they don't get action
  12. I can testify that Great Collections is very good. I've cosigned coins fo sale as well as purchased coins. Fees are very competitive and they are much better than Ebay especially the fact you aren't dealing direct with seller or buyer. Ebay has some bad people out there and Great Collections eliminates the interaction. I have even sent them raw coins and they had them graded at a discount from one of the big three grading company. Ebay is like an ex-wife - my new love is GC
  13. My hat goes off to VBurtB and powermad5000: Great advice and I realize I have to stop impulsive buying LOL Thanx again PS: does the grading companies ever put a grade on cleaned coins or just AU or UNC ?
  14. Very Interesting. As I stated in another post that I brought some coins that came back cleaned. Question: the dipping will be picked up if these coins are graded in the "dipping video" correct ?
  15. First, I would like to state that all the feedback was absolutely correct and greatly appreciated ! I must study more and be more patience in purchases. Although I have joined a local coin club there aren't any nearby coin shops. I think purchasing raw coins at online auctions is almost impossible due to enhanced pictures and ambiguous descriptions. I will post pictures when I get coins from grading company. Thanx again for advice. PS: I was advised earlier (on this forum) that this wasn't the time to collect Morgan and Peace dollars but I didn't listen
  16. Hello coin lovers, this newbie has learned his lesson on online auction purchases. I got some decent prices basing my bid on description and minimum UNC prices, but unfortunately some were cleaned after I had them graded . I realize lost a little money but it's a learning experience. How can I tell what these coins are worth (I know melt value LOL). 1935 Peace Dollar - AU details cleaned 1928 Peace Dollar - AU details cleaned 1892 Morgan Dollar - UNC details cleaned Thanx
  17. Thanx to all - again you given valuable information. They also were going to throw in 5 202 ASE's Type 2 unc. LOL I love this site !!
  18. I am not a big follower of Gold eagles (mostly ASE's) but I did get a 2021 Gold eagle for little over spot but now they are trying to sell a Type 2 $50 Gold eagle - MS70 for 4900. I don't beleive this coin is worth twice as much as a similar Type 1. Thoughts ?? thanx for helping Leroy
  19. Thanx so much Sensational historic information by Conder101 . The information and knowledge on this site is tremendous. Thanx all
  20. Thanx for comments, I also had run # so I felt better. I understand label torn but it definitely not from label I removed and is inside slab. Thanx again maybe when I send some coins in for grading - I will have it put in new slab ( I know its a waste of money but my OCD will prevail
  21. Hello Coin Lovers, I have heard a lot about fake coins, in fact a shop owner said that there are slabbed fake coins. I was looking at some of my slabs and something looks odd. I purchased a coin and when I received it I removed the sticker a lot of sellers use to track inventory but upon removing I noticed what appears to a hole in label inside slab (it almost looks like the 'white" backing coin is placed on before being slabbed. Am I worried for nothing or did I get ripped off LOL ? Experts please help
  22. Although this wasn't my post , I thank all for the advice / information
