  1. I'm new to the registry and I added my set of ASE's to the above set but cert# 3198332-276 didn't cross over.I guess it was because of W mint mark on label but cert# 4385600-027 which is a S mint mark did cross over. Please advise what is best category for this set or is there a description of set criteria ? Thanx v/r ldhall
  2. Another newbie question,I have 35 coins in my Morgan set (on my competitve coin list) , and if I choose category the "Morgan Complete Set 1878 to 1921", how many slots will I have ? I see a lot of request to add slots and I didn't know Also I'm under the impression PCGS coins can be in my set ? thanx, ldhall
  3. Thank you for the help, I am sorry for confusion. As you can tell I'm new, but under my coins I don't see ldhall PCGS 36809352 Owned $1 1892 CC. Am I looking in wrong place - I see all my other coins ? v/r ldhall
  4. Thanx for the advice I really thought NGC administrator would answer the typo error ? Is their number the regular NGC number ? v/r
  5. Hello, I have started adding coins to registry and have the following questions · Is there a definition page for the different types of sets ? · Can your set be in both custom and competitive sets ? · Can coins be a part of 2 different set within custom or competitive categories ? (i.e. entire Morgan set and CC entire set). · Will coin price guide always reflect NGC price guide even if its PCGS coin? ++ I deleted an incorrect entry under “my competitive coins” that I really don’t understand why it was approved since it was a typo error . When I deleted it, I got a prompt saying it will be marked as sold in coin manager which confused me also. I hope this doesn’t confuse matters. Line 18: 1891CC Morgan Silver Dollar PCGS 64 ; cert # 36809352 (incorrect coin) Line 19 : 1892CC Morgan Silver Dollar PCGS XF45 ; cert # 36809352 (correct coin) v/r
  6. LOL Thanx for all of the input. Yes as a Newbie, I get caught up in the holder LOL ; I realize the coin eye appeal is the key but I'm at mercy of the camera I think I will be patient and watch. If my grading eye was better, I could eliminate the slab doing my work for me LOL Thanx again for advice and conversation.
  7. Hello fellow collectors, I know this is another Newbie question and I remember all the helpful advice about prices, grading fees, and patience LOL But I'm in a dilemma - I am 3 coins from a 30 coin commemorative set and I've search HA, GC, Ebay, Collector's Universe and the grading companies chat boards for quite a while, but can't find year, mint mark and grade needed. I've found 2 of the 3 but in ANACS slabs (all other coins are NGC/PCGS). Considering the market when I find coins - I'm tempted to settle for ANACS slabs - thoughts
  8. Yes I totally agree with assessing real price using greysheet, Ebay, HA, GC and price guides but without local shops or dealers, we are the mercy of these other avenues unfortunately Thanx for all the information, advice, and help.
  9. Thanx that's what I assumed but was confused by customer service agents that know less than you guys LOL
  10. Hello, I figured I need to ask the experts after not getting consistent and understandable explanations from unknowledgeable customer service agents from both grading companies and a national dealer LOL. Question: I have 4 ASE coins (2021 T-2 and 2022) all graded 69 and 70. They all look the same (with AW inscription) on the obverse and no mint mark on back. 2 are labeled West Point and 2 with nothing listed on label. I was first told the AW was for West Point LOL. Then I was told unless its say Philadelphia (emergency production) or San Fransisco then its West Point. What's the real answer LOL PS: 2 I purchased and had graded and 2 were purchased already slabbed ! v/r Ldhall
  11. I'm looking for 1951D, 1952D and 1953D BTW/Carver commemorative half in grade 66 or better. If you also have any 67 in this series - I may be interested in upgrading my set. Thanx in advance for any help. v/r ldhall
  12. Thanx for all of the input. I also only have good things to say about NorthEast concerning purchases Also thank you for the reminder that GC doesn't have seller fees over 1K I figured NorthEast would give me a dealer price because when I asked for a quote about a year ago, and it was around 30% book; but when I called today , I was told to send coins (at their expense) and they will give me a quote which I was not comfortable with I know they are reputable but why waste shipping cost ? Thanx again - I will stick with GC for selling and occasionally ebay LOL
  13. Hello, another newbie question: I have purchased from Northeast Numismatics but I was wondering if anyone has sold to them (I'm tired of Ebay fees and GC has lower sale price sometimes) ? Thanx for any input.
  14. I was really wondering why same coin and grade had a large difference in price between the 2 grading companies. I agree GC and even even ebay gives better market trends. I also noticed people were pricing much lower than price guide. I inquired and was told it was based on population (which I didn't fully understand) and they used 1 grading company price as opposed to the company that graded the coin because its more realistic to maarket. This tells my "newbie" mind that people perceive one company different than the other due to popularity LOL PS: I am familiar with GC but I just started looking at HA which I assume is Heritage Auctions. Thanx
  15. Hello fellow collectors I was wondering how often NGC updates the online price guide. It seems to me that I remember a "last updated date" when you go to a specific coin type which I no longer see. I previously asked the forum about a large variance of price (approx 200 dollars) between the top 2 grading companies in same grade of same coin which I didn't understand. Thanx for any input v/r Leroy
  16. Thanx but its already slabbed - I don't think its worth paying to re-holder ? v/r Leroy
  17. Thanx to all great feedback. Goldfinger - you really made a lot of sense and I do see how the companies differ in price
  18. Hello Forum, hope all is well with everyone I have a newbie question: I see the different Generation slabs used by TPG's. I also realize perceived or actual grading trends. I was wondering if the slab generation has a correlation with grading tend ices of that time ? I'm thinking did they grade harder in past or present therefore a possible difference in 2 like coins but graded at different times. Please don't laugh me off with a dumb question v/r
  19. HOOORAH !! Army Strong !! Thanx for great idea - I will start looking ASAP
  20. Thanx to all - I will check Capital and maybe cut the 6 hole in half
  21. Is there a 3 hole coin holder for quarters ? I would like to display coin from 3 mint marks for a date year I have searched ebay, NGC, PCGS, and amazon. Any thoughts would be helpful
  22. Thanx for feedback, I am just learning the registry and really didn't understand the different categories (where can I read about the categories?). Any feedback is helpful. I actually stopped adding coins because I didn't know if I was on right track. Thanx again - I will add the rest soon.
