A friend is building a VF/XF set of Quarters for his High School age Son.
... I'm just having fun picking out stuff.

All those beautiful Saints... hmmmm
Added another Proof Liberty Head Nickel to my budding set:
-
Newest Dime:
-
Picked this 1889 up at a small show outside of Clovis, Calif:, last year.
Sent it to CAC - and it was passed. Neat colors !!
Sorry - images via my iPad

Oh Boy !!!
1889.................... I have a few ....................
I just had my Nickels imaged - so - I'm showing them off....
-
I just received the composite images of my last two Newps:
Both coins from Knightly Numismatics and imaged by the owner, Michael Valente.

Nice looking half SkyMan!
+ 1
Skyman has the goods, that's for sure !!
-
Mike, that Columbian is absolutely special!
Coindude...Thanks.
I stumbled across it on David Kahn's site. He had two in the same grade -
looked like they were in the same roll together. I loved both - but only wanted
one example for my Barber Coinage Class at the ANA Summer Seminars.
-
Nice coin, Curry. Looks familiar - where have I seen it ?
edit: I thought I saw it here - and I did.
Its on the previous page. all 12x12" of it.
I picked up a couple of newps from a friend...
PCGS PROOF 65 CAM & CAC
PCGS 65 CAC
The Nickel was too nice to pass up - and the price was right - I have a couple of Proofs and have wanted to expand my set.
The Dime is an upgrade over a MS 63. Although a nice coin,
the 65 looks like a lock 66 - no wonder CAC beaned it. I was
surprised it didn't Gold Bean !!

Thanks, Jason. I like them, but not as much as I'd like your's, I'm sure.

On a sad note, a dealer who I have become friends with over the last
three years since my retirement, David Weygant of Florida, passed
away on August 4th.
A thread ATS asked us to post a coin we had purchased from him.
I bought this little gem from David in Philadelphia at the last ANA
that was held there.
I spotted this Dime in his case from 10 feet away. This is a screamer
in direct lighting. The image [ albeit great ] doesn't do this coin justice:

Barber designed a few Commems as well. I don't have too many of them,

Great set of nickels,, Mike! Your granddad had an eye for nice lightly circulated coins. Fun to browse through those.

Continuing on with my Grandfathers V Nickel Collection -
again, a majority are pocket change finds from the 1930-1940's.
1886 - PCGS 58.
I found this coin in a small coin shop in Naples, Florida
...the owner is Ben King... a super guy and this coin was
in an PCI Green Holder marked AU 53. I left the coin in the
PCI Holder when I crossed it to PCGS:
I especially like having this other AU 58 next to it:
1887 - PCGS 58
I actually have two AU 58's. One was from a show in 1990
in Massachusetts:
and this one was from a Heritage auction
in September, 2010
In 1994 when I moved to Florida, I found this raw coin in a Coin World ad:
1888 - MS 63
That's all for tonight.

Spotted this / won the bid / - showed it to a friend and he
is buying it.
I bought it because of the color ... although I have a higher
graded example, I thought this was undergraded - plus its
so darn pretty !!
