Ya know, it's just a pleasure to sit back and relax and view
all these marvelous coins...
Boiler, as always, your coins are just superb !

I won this today...

The last correct post was the 1893 Liberty Head Nickel.
The 1862 Proof Quarter and the 1867 Pattern Nickel
with the 1867 With Rays Nickel have no bearing on
this thread ... Granted they are really nice... But we need
another 1893 dated coin or another Liberty Head Nickel
in any date.
Although I could easily add to the thread... I will let someone
else have the honors.

Picked up a few Quarters - but only have some of the images...
Here are the ones I do have pictures of...

Jeff,
The 1894 in 58 is really stunning and for the Neophytes of this series,
this is a date to recond with. Much more difficult that the average collector
realizes.
The 1901-S is undergraded, IMHO, in AU 50. I think a 53 is closer to its actual
grade. Nice coin. I have a 53 in my most recent set and I think it's closer to a 55.
The 1914 looks like a lock in 50. Tough coin, as all know. Good luck; who are you
going to send it to ?
Thanks for posting. I hope to get a large group of Quarters out to Messydesk next week
as I just have a bunch getting returned from CAC. Once imaged I will get them posted ASAP .

Next time in Baltimore, Mark, make plans on going to
a BCCS Meeting.
Spotted this on JJ Teaparty - and grabbed it before
someone else saw what a bargain it was...
-
I sent this to Glenn ....
any comments ?
PCGS 64 - Looks more intense in hand !!
-
Still one of the prettiest raw Dimes I ever had in the Dansco.
Now: NGC 58

Not sure if this has been posted before - from last year:
The Barber Coin Collectors Society August, 2013 Chicago Meeting.

Mark... Reread... I need a 1913.... Not 1893....
BTW, a 1913 in 45 for $500 is a steal !! An 1893
in XF 45 is not a steal, it's the high end of the asking
prices for a certified coin. $400-425 is a better price, IMHO.
Still, I have paid premiums for the right coin... What does
the 1893 look like ?

One of my more recent graded acquisitions; a 1913 S NGC 53:
This was a nice upgrade from my PCGS XF 40.
Jeff,
I am looking for the Phila issue if it looks like this. I have a VF 35 that I'd like to upgrade.
A solid 45 - 53 would be my preference !

As I am actively looking for my old coins from previous sets,
I thought I'd show off this old coin of mine....

Hey, Labelman 31 / 87 - nice 1892 Quarter....

I subscribed to your Trickle Down theory but I took it a bit further...
and was lucky to pick up the 05-S.
I picked up a few Quarters over the weekend as well as an old Dime of mine:

Well, as they say, in for a Penny....

Thanks - I thought so the first time I bought it as well !

As I usually post my newps on the Barber Thread ( still plugging away at the collection )
and everyone is invited to stop anytime to see what I have been picking up. As of late, I
have been concentrating on Quarters. Although I have recently added a Dime and a Half
for my collection.
This Quarter was originally in my 1st Set of Quarters - and it's been for sale since the
guy bought it. My coins sold for what was considered (at that time) Moon Money. Although
I would buy back everyone I sold at the price they sold for in 2011 !!
I inquired about this coin a few times and the seller would hardly budge - all he kept saying
was ..." Do you know whose set this coin is from ? All the coins were premium toned and sold
for twice or three times sheet ! " I chuckled to myself and when he was thru defending his
price ( which would have made a Hooker blush ) ... I calmly mentioned, I was the previous
owner and it was my hard work and dedication that paid off. I marketed the collection throughly
and most coins sold for double their competitors' price. I offered him a 20% profit of what he paid
and he refused. I let it slide, thanked him for his time ( he seemed like a nice enough guy )
and would still see the coin on eBay every so often.
Well, I saw the coin again last week and sent him an offer, still giving him a 20% profit and
mentioned to him that if he refused the offer again, the chances were good that he'd still have the
coin in inventory in another 2 and a Half Years. Just said some profit is better than no profit, or
yet, a loss. The coin is a very minor variety of the most populous date in the entire Barber Series.
Edit to add: This image was taken before I sent the coin to CAC where it received a Green Bean !
