While I don’t focus on Lincoln cents, i think that one is just a normal fingermarked ‘09 vsb

I got my SECOND shipment to leave NGC first, last Friday, and now the one that left NGC a day earlier is now in town, but I wasn't home to sign for it.

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why you care so much about finding a doubled die coin? I mean really ask yourself. If it's financial reward, I'm afraid that won't happen, unless it's one of the truly famous ones. In my opinion, and I've been active in the hobby for 56 years now, you'd do much better to forget about doubled dies and concentrate on the most perfect coins you can find. Doubled dies are a weird kind of fetish right now, that's all.

The most common question we seem to see here:  "is this one of the valuable double die Lincoln coins?"  In every single case, the answer is "no".  More senior members can chime in if they ever recall an actual DDO coin posted here found from pocket change but I do not recall a single example.
There are technically dozens of double die Lincoln's but only two that (most) collectors care about, the 1955 DDO1 and the 1969 S DDO1.  You would know instantly if you had one of these coins as they will make you blink and question if your vision is blurred for a moment.  I have attached pictures of each.  Please compare your coins to these pictures to help you identify whether you have a real example (and it would be fun for all if you really did find one).  Note in both cases, the Liberty doubling is very obvious.
Here is a resource that may be helpful for those interested in the more obscure DDO examples:  http://lincolncentresource.com/doubledies/doubledies.html

My latest submissions, at the August ANA show, were ALL well into the "starting with a 5" range. Invoice numbers are a VERY POOR indicator of time graded. The ones I did last year started with a 2. I have 2828282.

Yes, and of course Breen is subject to a good many, umm, more "personal" criticisms. Don't research it if you don't have a strong stomach. Suffice it to say that by 2019 societal standards, Breen was about as low as human beings get.

If you like it and you want to keep it, and I don't want to discourage you either way, forget having it graded. Just put it in a nice new stapled 2x2 and start your own "mishandled coin" file box. But that is what it is, a mishandled coin, not a mint error. In the annals of ANA competitive exhibiting, one exhibit of ONLY damaged coins DID win a Best in Show one year. It was extensive and well researched as to causes.

    Aimee,
I think you deserve to know why you don't see these very often, even though they are fairly recent, and so many were made. They have been heavily "hoarded", or "set aside" by nearly every
coin person in the whole country. Roll after roll after roll, simply sitting in boxes somewhere in coin collectors' "stuff".

Do keep in mind the market CONDITIONS in January 2011 when I "picked" that 1939 nickel. Most guys at auctions were snapping up ANYTHING made of silver at really sick high prices then. If it weren't either silver or gold, most guys couldn't have cared less. That reveals one of my key strategies - collect what is NOT presently "HOT"! Then wait.
