Excellent!
Soooo....This means dealers no longer have to fold currency into little paper airplanes and fly them over the razor wire parapet, past the guard towers, over the gator-filled moat and into the reception/log-in cubicle....?
@RWB have you been snooping around the perimeter again? Your assessment is spot on!

@Matt G Is the $5 internet imaging the one thats for slabbed coins? If so, is the quality of the images like the photovision or using a lesser quality camera, etc?
Hello @Jade Collection,
Yes, the internet imaging is done while coins are in their holders. Please see below for more details on this service. We also offer raw imaging of coins as well. I do not have the exact details and resolution but you can see examples on our website.

Is there a service available to get photos taken of coins that are already slabbed?
Hello @BlakeEik,
Please find the link below to our services and fees page. We have a few imaging options for both raw and encapsulated coins. You can select the services when you submit the coins for grading or you can resubmit for imaging at any time.

NGC began capturing and posting coin images roughly 10 years ago. A dead giveaway for the age of this submission is that it only contains 6 digits whereas they all contain 7 digits now. This was graded many moons ago and NGC was not taking pictures at that time. The only way that we are able to add images for the particular cert is if the coin is submitted for reholder, imaging, or another paid service.

Interesting Matt, thanks for posting......I'm curious....when NGC receives a bulk submission, how much time per coin do the graders spend on each coin ?
We've debated this on many threads. I am reasonably certain that for new coins it's much less than for classic coins but that's all I know.
While some bulk submitter's will request for coins below a certain grade to be rejected (sent back raw) we must evaluate all coins for authenticity and grade. Hairlines and other defects can make the bulk process a tad faster overall due to the rejects being identified much quicker.
I cannot comment on the amount of time spent per coin it may vary depending on many different factors. Sorry to be so robotic!

NGC grades most coins on a scale of 1 to 70. There are subtle differences near the top of the scale, which covers nearly the entire population of modern bullion coins like the Silver Eagle. Read More

Access to these images is a big time bonus and was a major upgrade to some of my sets.
Good call NGC on making these images available to the submitter.
Photo Vision is also a really good service.
Thanks,
Mike
@Fenntucky Mike I completely agree! It is great for our registry members, buyers/sellers and those who simply want easy access to their images!

Thanks Matt, we appreciate the information and especially when it is free.
One important suggestion: prices for the U.S. Coin Guide need to be updated more frequently and more accurately. For instance, the prices for a 1907 High Relief look high across the board -- AU58's are listed for $15,000+ and the market value is closer to $10,000 ($11K tops), which is about 30% less.
Hello @GoldFinger1969,
Thank you for the kind words and suggestions. We are always looking to improve our website and user experience. We try to update the pricing for key coins as the market changes but as you know there are too many coins to update. We have a few tools in the pipeline that we hope will assist our price guide team in monitoring and updating pricing as it is a very labor-intensive task.

I sent a check as payment for my coin submissions and I did not realize NGC does not accept Canadian Checks[i am Canadian] as payment so now my coins are siting in their storage with no way of me paying for them.
I asked to pay by Visa and they said yes they accept Visa but the million dollar question is how to pay by visa?
NGC is not responding to me anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frustrated in Canada!
Hello @BarrySouth please contact our accounting team at 800-642-2646 and supply them with your customer number (Starts with CS) and the submission number.

can someone tell me how to get the "join" screen to allow me to put in the state that I live in so that I can upgrade and join NCG. I've gone through the process three times without the state because I cannot type it in and when I click on the down arrow in that box nothing comes up.
If you are on the boards it means that you already have a free account. Please go to www.ngccoin.com and log in to your current account by using your email address and password. Then click on the person/figure in the top corner and click on "upgrade membership." I ran a test and the State dropdown box seems to be working properly. If you have any other issues please email me.

If you are not comfortable cracking the coin out you can send it for the crossover service. This allows you to retain the PCGS holder if it does not meet the crossover criteria. Please note that you can request it to be crossed at the same grade or lower but you cannot request a higher grade. If the coin is deemed to be an MS64 we will automatically place it into our holder.
Please see the details below
