  1. Not sure what I expected but those figurines are special
  2. I have only found one. Anybody know how many were minted ?
  3. Last submission for me just a month ago was a crossover done online and my coin number was in the 5XXXXXX generated by them. Strange part is that recent coin numbers are in the 6XXXXXX.
  4. I see that reholder is 13.00. I was of the understanding that a reholder submission automatically gets a scratch resistance holder but looking at their Services and Fees I can't tell for sure. Looks like a raw submission allows for an upgrade to scratch resistant but you could call for clarification. Submissions require yearly membership (mine is just an associate level membership).
  5. As you probably are aware, back in the early days at NGC we used numbered submission tickets that were sent out upon request. The ticket number then became the coin number and could give you some kind of idea when it was graded although not always because some submitters would use older tickets. Also understand that reholdered coins keep the original coin number resulting in many coins having an old number in a new style scratch resistant holder. Some of your coins in older holders that are not scratched up and have superior eye appeal are at the top as for desireability and IMO should be left alone.
  6. For not seeking Registry quality material you will be rewarded down the road with the satisfaction of knowing you were able to hand pick your collection from coins having near equal eye appeal at a fraction of the cost.
  7. I've always suspected such pieces exist but why all the secrecy ? Beyond anti-counterfeit measures what would be the harm with offering these at auction ?
  8. Still not working Roger but I did watch the PBS News Hour live feed on YouTube. Thanks FenntuckyMike
  9. Guess I'm using Edge. Nope won't load. I see Freelance Star but text won't load.
  10. Just imagine if Pattern coins were produced today....... which dealers or TPG associates would be selected to qualify for purchasing rights ? And then imagine what a mess there would be when usmint.gov crashed. Actually sales of such Patterns could never be disclosed for obvious reasons.
  11. Back in the 90's very few Morgan Dollars were graded MS 68. Then after a few more were graded, well you know the rest
  12. You are welcome here and I think you would thoroughly enjoy a beautiful Cameo Proof cent dated 1958 for 50 to 100 bucks, the finer available 2000 bucks or so.
  13. Consider most are MS 69 grade and could be had for around 30 bucks or so
  14. IMO the only way an MS 70 coin that large could exist would be one that was handled individually after striking, not shipped in a tube or box touching each other. Funny part is that you'll probably see this coin end up in the NGC Registry.
  15. Still seeing these MS 70 Silver Eagles selling for huge money. Of the 62 1999 Silver Eagles graded at PCGS and many more graded at NGC, how many do you think really are flawless at 5X magnification ? Current bid at over 6000.00 on one at GC. Will withhold comment until after the auction ends.
  16. CAC will re-sticker if the coin number is the same. Even had one done at N/C but now I think now they have a net charge for those re-stickered.
  17. I found both P and D WCD's in circulation with near prooflike finish. They look stunning and have at least 1 or 2 spares if anyone wants one.
  18. No I dont buy this either. Kind of like the metal detectorists not too long ago that found handfuls of Seated and Bust coins. Do ya think ?
  19. My 1940 set has cent and dime toned I'll save for a toner Sunday thread When I bought these a few years ago I didn't know they came this nice but 1940 was a good year for proofs if you know where to look. These coins all NGC Pf 67 with a little premium paid for premium coins.
