Keeps things interesting....  I don't see any blemishes or haze, so it must be real close to MS 70.

Wow I don't even know where to start, it was a bad decision in some ways when management decided to stop allowing PCGS graded coins into the competitive registry sets.  The real issue was that PCGS coins already in a competitive set were grandfathered in but no new coins could be added, this was highly unfair to those starting new sets.  But now you have some; maybe not many but some; collectors that have started a set under the now overruled change who may have passed over a PCGS coin because it could not be used in that registry set, I doubt that those few will be overly happy about passing on a coin that they could now use.

When the change was made while I was not overly happy about it I did understand the reason, I however felt (and still do) that there was a much better and more fair solution to this whole issue.  Back then I said that the registry standing should be calculated using only NGC graded coins, all PGCS graded coins would be allowed to be seen but given a point score of 0 for the purpose of awarding registry awards.  No grandfathering needed, no exclusions, no muss and would have resulted in far fewer upset collectors imo; after all the scoring system is already in place as scores are calculated for NGC graded coins anyway.  Just do away with the all coins category and boom done.

I have to say that these changes do not make much sense and does not inspire confidence that management has a good understanding of what the customers want.

I was exaggerating a bit, unfortunately not all that much.  Of course some of this depends on the value and the coin, a chain cent or coiled hair gold coin will have buyers and a strong following to keep the prices higher.  But more widget type coins could see significant price falls if the fail data were ever released by CAC, some might even be close to my 50% number, its really tough to say for sure which coins would be the biggest losers.  Remember that if that data were released its affects would not be limited to registry participants, it would be felt across the entire hobby.
I suspect this was a move to quash any attempt by CAC to develop a registry that would include all CAC approved coins, PCGS sees itself as above NGC and doesn't want to see a mixed registry.  Also this move allows them to continue their marketing as the best, top TPG with the exclusive wording in the press release.  Those two things I believe are the driving force behind the idea not any immediate revenues that may or may not come in the form of increased cross over attempts, although its quite possible that they will see a quick surge.

Certainly there are some, many at the higher price/grade levels who think that any coin above say 1K has to have been tried and failed thus it must be a reject.  But the truth is that there are many collections that have never seen the grading room, and even more graded collections that have not been to the bean factory.  In my case I have submission ability but so far have only submitted 5% or less of my collection with no plans to submit any in the near future.

Much better for me, I just don't have lots of the 1800 coins and even fewer imaged.

I have two Lincoln Cents in my 1957 Business Strike Mint Set (#3). Two of my Grandsons from California are visiting for the holidays.
I gave each of them one of my Lincoln cents:

A new addition for my 1958 year set.  Not FBL and not a high grade coin but a nice original mint set toned coin in an NGC 4th gen holder with a CAC green bean, I'm happy with it.
