I remember but haven't seen him post in YEARS. He was a VERY active poster here, when I first started over 10 years ago. He seemed like he had a kind demeanor. RIP and condolences to his family and friends.

To be more precise; I submitted mine Thursday night and they were verified around 12:00 PM ET on Friday.
So yes, one business day is accurate.
I thought there would be more of a delay, since this is a newer implementation and A LOT of people are likely submitting requests.
However, there wasn't a delay....it was very timely.
I think @BillJones will have his coins verified by Monday afternoon.

Mine were approved in less than 24 hours, which is GREAT service, IMHO.
YES, since it is now the weekend; you will have to wait until Monday, which is the next business day.

I see it as a counter to that whole CAC registry thing over there.
If that is true, then this announcement over here is MUCH more of an attractive option to me.
This facilitates Registry building more, whereas, a 'PCGS/CAC only' qualifier restricts it, even more. My

Hi, Walkerfan.
With the initial load of new additions, it may take a few business days. Thanks for your support.
Everything that I added yesterday just loaded and I updated all my sets! Man they look nice! Now, I can collect uninhibited and can display everything. Will be adding more pictures tonight. Building a Standing liberty quarter one per date set and will be uploading some very nice NGC as well as PCGS coins. Thank you!!

@Ali E. How long will verification of PCGS coins take?

I left all my sets as they were so everything remained the same. Glad I can add a pcgs coin if I need to now. Thanks for reverting back to the good days. Lol
I haven't been this excited about the Registry in years. Feels like 2005 all over again LOL Thanks NGC!

Isn't it nice they made this announcement a week after the deadline for this year's Registry awards?
I think that was the fairest way. Now, we can all start fresh for next year.

. Y'all are announcing this like it is some major upgrade or new feature.
How about you acknowledge that this is reversing a wildly unpopular decision made a few years ago? A decision which turned many people off your brand, and saw your business hurt as a result of the negative publicity?
How about an apology to all of the collectors insulted and betrayed by this bad decision?
Do you think our memories are so short?
(this isn't direct at you, Ali, you've always been very helpful - this is directed at the owners and bosses of NGC, and especially the one who wrote a lengthy opinion piece to try and justify his decision even after all of the negative feedback)
Everyone knows it was a bad decision.
No need to try to rub it in their faces.
Just be glad that they did the right thing for themselves and for us

Hello Walkerfan,
Please clear your cache and try again. I was able to log in as you and the option was available to me. Thank you for your interest in NGC.
Thank You. I just did that and it worked. Also, I accidentally added a PCGS coin that is already entered, so it won't need to be done over. Thanks again!

When I try to add; I don't get a PCGS option. What is wrong? Last night I even had trouble adding an NGC coin.

I am just very, very happy about this decision. Thank you so much! I have always supported NGC and will continue to do so!

I will be winning two registry Awards again this year. One for the Walker one per date set any other for the early Walker set. I don't compete much, anymore, since I am 98% done with my full Walker set. I never upgrade, as I am perfectly happy with the examples that I have selected. It is very nice to be recognized and I thank NGC for all they do. They have been more than accommodating. I buy the best I can afford but I also buy the best quality, which makes a huge difference. It's not only about price. When I first start collecting early Walkers I was buying mostly 64s that looked better than 65s. That way I got more bang for my buck. You have to know your series. That's difficult to do these days, since most of the good coins have been 'mined', meaning they have been cracked and regraded. Someday, I will have mine regraded but, since I am a true collector, I will not be doing that anytime soon. At this stage in the game, it is just nice to kick back and relax and enjoy what I have accomplished. Don't know where prices will be down the road but I plan to hold. We shall see but I think that I'll be okay.

Garrett is a good author and I enjoyed the article. I met him at the ANA. I did buy a nice Morgan from him and he sold it to me for wholesale, which I thought was nice.

An old dealer once told me that a lot of LARGE CENTS are HOLED.
This is because, back in the 1800s, it was supposedly GOOD LUCK to nail a penny to the wall of your barn.
Has anyone else heard of this? Fact or myth?

Nice pick!!
The coin has very nice color.
Congrats on the grade/attribution/pedigree....It looks awesome in that holder!!

I appreciate how wide open that topic is, as long as people continue qualifying their responses as proof, NCLT, variety/type, etc.
Agree. Proofs were minted in far fewer numbers than business strikes and should be duly noted.

A 1921 D Walking Liberty Half at 208,000 minted.
I also have a 1885 CC Morgan at 228,000 minted.
Both are MS 64s.
The former is an NGC and the latter is a PCGS.
