All dollars (Draped, Seated, Morgan, Peace, Ike, SBA, SAC...)?

No one is ever referring to SBA & SAC

    Three Baltimore shows per year.

Hehe, yeah I wasn't really sure how to reply to that one....I suppose I could have mentioned this was the June 8th-10th show. The November show was enjoyable too though.

  2. It's always fun to see some pictures posted from coin shows, Charmy would do a great job of it, but I haven't done one for ages. How many of you went and did you notice anything different? I know the town has changed a lot since COVID hit and closed many businesses. Everyone cautioned me that the Summer Baltimore show would be pretty slow, which set expectations low, but I honestly think it was better than the last one. The trading rooms were super busy on Tuesday, the Wednesday dealer/early bird traffic was strong and Thursday's foot traffic was great as well. All the regulars complain about how many good restaurants have closed down out there in the past couple years, but our favorites like La Tavola are still kicking! It seems like Dollars have come down off of their highs, but lots of people were still buying them. Did anyone else have some highlights or new purchases?

  3. It's definitely been an issue in the past when submitting ancients, NGC will just send the coin back in a flip with the words "Too fragile to holder" and sometimes include a little photo-cert thing to go with it. We had one of those come back just a few months ago on a $5k coin.

In terms of marketing, I don't think they should be advertising it so much especially since its use is at their discretion, and coming up with a name for it creates a certain level of desire.

We've had these types of holders for ancients for a long time, so it's not new technology, but I'm sure they enhanced the clarity of the film. I have a stack of the original holders on my desk right now....I call them Glade Press & Seals :-p

As was mentioned before, I'd be a little worried about slippage on bigger coins, and possibly Newton Rings down the road. But a welcome addition to the NGC arsenal!

  4. Indeed, my deepest sympathy to his family and those who knew him. The numismatic community is surprisingly tight, I think it takes going to a lot of shows to realize that. His passing will be felt by many, but hopefully we can all remember to share some of his passion with new faces that enter this hobby. That's the best legacy of all

  5. It seems Condor just described the current situation.

I feel like Long Beach in June has a shot of happening, it just depends on the true effectiveness of the vaccine and how many people take it without serious side effects. There will have to be a shift of consciousness too.

We just went to the Collectorama show in Lakeland, FL about a month ago mainly to trade with dealers. Attendance by dealers was pretty good, the public seemed a little apprehensive, but we left by Friday. Maybe weekend traffic was better.

  6. Found it, thanks!

This is the last coin needed for a Full Step wartime set. Not looking for anything special like rainbows or PL surfaces, just a basic 1945-S with all the steps! Please let me know!

  7. Hello Guys & Gals

Now is your opportunity to stock up on a small or large selection of 90% US coins! I just received 64lbs of Quarters & Half Dollars......no Dimes or Dollars.

I think they were bought in bulk ages ago....Lot's of BU 1964 Kennedy Halves, BU 1960's Washington Quarters, Tons of war time Quarters & Franklins. If there is anything you don't want, let me known.

    Asking $125 per $10 face.

I've done quite a few transactions on this board and am very proud of my reputation in business. Have no fear as I've also packed and shipped over 2,000 packages, so your coins WILL arrive safe & sound.

  8. Awesome old set that was actually a gift to me when I was 13! I upgraded the Album to a Dansco since then of course. I kept a few of the coins from this set for my new set and thus the extra holes. It's a nearly complete set, minus the 16-D, both 21's, the short set & a few strays. $115 OBO DELIVERED via Priority ....Paypal gift or add 3% ......Boomerang thumb not included.

  9. Stunning additions everyone!

As for me, these came in the mail a couple weeks ago and I finally had a chance to take a few shots of them. This is my most attractive SLQ and beats the one in my avatar by a little..... Plus 1923 is the year 2 of my Grandparents were born, which is a nice connection. PCGS MS-63 Type 2. The second coin is 1 of 2 MS-66 Morgans that I picked up thanks to eBay's 10% rewards. It sports some cresent toning and stunning luster which the pics don't really show.
