Just Bob got a reaction from Old-school in Seriously, Is This a Genuine or a Fake 1804 Silver Dollar?!
Go back and look at Old-School's post. He was quoting a post from 2013, which was about a coin posted on 6/27/2013. All he did was agree that the original coin in this post was not real. He was not talking about you, your story, or your coin. It might be wise to look a bit closer before attacking someone who did nothing wrong.

I agree. Those proofs will sometimes get milky looking, but this one looks really nice.

Just Bob reacted to Yarm in For the love of copper
I believe I purchased this pattern from a Stack's auction in 1990. The auction was a hodgepodge of primarily raw coins in the middle of which was this piece attributed as J-165b and graded PR66RB by NGC. In very high relief, only a few known, one in the Smithsonian and graded about as high as they went back then so I was pleased when it was overlooked.
When I retired I couldn't collect such US patterns anymore so in 2008 I offered the coin to a pattern specialist who was researching 1854 and 1855 flying eagles for metal composition, die characteristics and other features. I had crossed it to PCGS in the meantime. He told me later that SEM-EDX testing indicated it was copper rather than bronze. Apparently, he had it reholdered with PCGS as J-165a (copper), PR66RB where it resides today.
As an aside, the buyer's premium for that sale was 10%!

Nice coins, Ryan, Rollo, and Irvin.
I received the token that I had posted previously, and it looks better in hand than in the seller's pics. It has definitely seen some circulation, and I still think it has been cleaned at some point, but it looks a lot less "messed with" than I was expecting. And, it is the plain-edge copper version, too.
Seller's pictures first, then mine:

So, you own one of either two or three coins that are known to exist. Very, very cool.

I'm out of the loop on this one. What is a "pac-man" error?

I agree. Whatever ANACS saw does not show in the pictures, at least as far as I can see.
Love the color.
