ANACS substantially downgrades their own slab

MS 62 prob-free turns into Rim-Filed, cleaned MS 60 NOTE: Everything in this journal is my opinion. I make no claim as to factual content.Did anyone experience difficulty with a "guarantee?"NOTE: I do not claim that there is any truth to any statements made in this journal entry. Statements are from my personal interpretation. It took 2 resubmissions to get the correct grade. They have been ignoring my email and phone requests for their guarantee for several weeks. We are in agreement on the PF 70 Your email states that some of your submissions are downgraded for reasons you can't see at 10x magnification. Since the PF 70 I posted has a scratch that is visible WITHOUT magnification, all the more reason it should be downgraded. New photo attached, to address the opening line of your reply. hf upload2.JP

Opinion on Proof 70 Requested

Should it downgrade to 69 or 68? The photo below is of a 2006 ASE, Proof 70. Does the scratch above the second 'S' in 'STATES' qualify for 70? What should the rating be? Am I being too picky?? NOTE: Scratch is visible without magnification; the close up photo, in part, is to compensate for my limited abilities with a camera. hf HFaver@aol.com

Grading, or Tossing a Coin?

ANACS coins in NGC "Bodybags" I sent 2 ANACS MS62, 1921 Peace Dollars to NGC for crossover. One would not cross due to "improper cleaning, PVC covered." The second one did not cross due to "staining." The "staining" coin has very good strike, so I was, naturally, dissapointed. When I sent it back to ANACS, along with the NGC bodybag, it was upgraded to MS63 (problem free)!! I am waiting for a result on the "improper cleaning" coin. NOTE: I uploaded the reverse image of the MS63 coin

Appearance Review

'Taking longer' does not = 'quality'! I recently submitted a 2006 PF 70, NGC Amer. Silver Eagle for appearance review. The coin had a scratch located near the center of the obverse, visible with no magnification. It was returned exactly as I sent it, with no comment. So far, the first grader missed it, and, assuming the coin was actually reviewed, it was missed a second time. I taped a piece of paper to the slab with an arrow pointing to the defect! When a company takes longer than the
