Irvine, Bruce,

Unfortunately it is not the 1916 D, it is from the Philadelphia mint. I also have the S but alas no D......

Irvin,

My apologies, I did not mean to offend with the Non-US coins. I will save those for the other forum.

Here is a genuine US Gold Coin from New Orleans.

There's a story behind this one that has not seen an ending, will update in a month or so.

I have tried to make it a D mentally quite a few times, but it just doesn't work.

Will have to continue to search for that one.

Are you kiddin'? I was fascinated with it! I marvel even more at how astute a collector your dad was. You should really be proud. I mean that. Because your dad is in many of us here on the boards. thumbsup2.gif

How about a couple U.S. made foreign discs and part of my type set? My pictures are not very good but you can get the idea. I need a better camera and the type set is scanned.

All of you have some very pretty gold.

Irvin,

I must have missed that question earlier about the 1850-O. You are right it does look as if there is a 5 below the arrow on the reverse. I looked at the coin and it is not there. Don't know if that was some type of weird reflection, through holder to lens and back or what. Here are new pics which are better and without the image of a 5.
