There appears to be substantial PVC residue in this reverse. This coin probably spend some time in a vinyl flip.

 

I guess it's possible, I've had it for about 20-25 years now and it still looks (from what I remember) pretty much the same as when I bought it. It doesn't show the tell tale sign of green residue that's normally associated with PVC though. Maybe just an anomaly of the lighting your seeing? This one on the other hand, I've been debating whether a dip in acetone would be beneficial or not to remove the slime from the reverse........

This is a coin I picked up from Edgar Souders. His notes are "Intermediate die state between O-106 and O-106a die crack Rev. at arrowheads".
