1872 25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-1195, Pollock-1335, Low R.7
 
William Barber's Amazonian design with Liberty seated, facing left, her right hand touching the head of a spread-wing eagle, sword in left hand. Thirteen stars are on the upper portion of that side with the date below. The reverse has a reversed variant of the eagle seen on the obverse, denomination below, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around much of the perimeter on that side. Struck in silver with a reeded edge.
 
Many students of U.S. pattern coinage consider the Amazonian design, which William Barber created, to be the most beautiful design ever created for a coin. It was a mere 18 years after they were coined that the Amazonian name first appeared in the catalog of Lorin Parmelee's Collection sold by New York Coin and Stamp in 1890.
 
A roster of at least seven different examples appears at USPatterns.com, clearly indicating that there are many rarer pattern issues, but few that are more desirable. Two of those known examples are in museums, one at the Western Heritage Museum in Omaha, from the Byron Reed Collection, and the other at the ANA Museum in Colorado Springs, from the Harry Bass Collection.

Yep that’s it. I have the book on it written in both Polish and English. The 80 is coming up at auction soon. Have a million to spare?

We have 5 rescue cats of different ages and ailments. One was rescued from wildfires (lung issues). One has an amputated tail from an opossum encounter somewhere near here. The others are adopted from shelters or found as kittens abandoned and taken in by me. The one you see in the back is Bo. She is a 10-year-old female that was and abandoned in a store parking lot as a runt by her mother cat. They are all avid coin fans.

Q.A.:   I would like to have the unique 1908 St.-Gaudens half eagle pattern which was the subject of @RWB 's Topic, "Destruction of 1908 Indian and St. Gaudens half eagle patterns," Mar. 10.

I believe it to be in the constructive possession of my most faithful follower who for the past 37 years refuses to confirm or deny its very existence..  (As a practical matter he has adamantly refused to authorize any photographs taken of it.)

In the alternative, I would be interested in acquiring either of the two French 20-francs gold roosters, dated 1908 and 1912 and graded [and cross-graded] an impressive and unprecedented MS-68 by the top two TPGSs

My faithful follower, while readily acknowledging the coins exist, has stated on a number of occasions that they are not for sale now nor will they be in the forseeable future and has declined to have a professional photographer take pictures of them under any circumstances. He has also declined to disclose their certification numbers.

My Dream Coins would be AFFORDABLE, achievable coins that I can hope to get within a few years.(thumbsu  Not something like an MCMVII UHR if I win Powerball or MegaMillions. xD

My 2 coins would be Saints.....I'd like to get an MS-66 CAC OGH Wells Fargo 1908 NM.  They can be gotten for about $5,000 and they look really nice (see below).

My other coin would be an MCMVII High Relief, probably in AU-58 condition, CAC or no CAC.  Looking at a much higher price-point than the other Saint, probably 2 1/2 times as much. :( 

So for now I'll just post the 1908 NM since that might be attainable if things break right by early-2025. :)

Roger, I have a confession to make. I used the information in your Topic on the subject selectively to get him to respond: to draw him out. I failed miserably.  He has been, and continues to be as cool as a cucumber.

A "Gothic" crown was my first discretionary foreign coin purchase. It is one of the most impressive coins issued anywhere. I still have the coin.
