Here are two coins I just received back from grading. One is 69 and the other is a 70.

Can you guess scores?  I’m interested in others opinions as to grade. They are two different grades. I’ll post grades later after hopefully getting some comments.

thanks much

Ok thank you. The US Mint quality control of these coins is horrible.I think these were the best coins offered this year from the mint. Very sad.i guess I’m lucky to get one 70.

It's not just you or those coins.  The world class reputation of the mint is gone, the overall quality of the design and production for most of the coins from the mint has been flushed, there have been unresolved problems like milk spots on ASEs which hit me with the one from the previous year,  and there have been changes to really cheap dollar store like capsules and packaging the last 2 years.

This all occured because the mint went woke and quality seems like a distant second, which has been severely disappointing.  They say many of the changes were needed due to budget problems, but what they don't tell you is that's mostly because they refused to pull the rip cord on unpopular woke coin programs that are loosers.  I ended up canceling all my mint subscriptions except for very inexpensive ones like the Innovation dollar coins and one basic annual set

It really is a shame as some go back to the mid 1980's or include favorite coins like the ASEs, AGEs and Morgans.  Hopefully they will realize why so many collectors are bailing on them, but I am not holding my breath.  :eyeroll:

I really appreciate all the info. I agree 100% with EagleRJO. I just got grades on 2nd order I sent with the other and all were 70.

HAPPY DAYS.

Coins  were all 2023”s:

Peace, Morgan (Pallidium), American Liberty Metal, Morgan proof, and the American Liberty $100 gold coin. The only reason I’m getting these graded so my family knows there value  None are interested in coins.

This is if CACG will grade these moderns at all. That’s far from clear.

It appears that CAC will grade all modern U.S. issues except for irregularly shaped pieces such as Basketball or Apollo 11 commemoratives or 5 oz. silver pieces. See https://www.cacgrading.com/coins-accepted/grading.

Correct. The scratch may have been too small to show under max maginifucation. I can’t see them letting go. Great Observations.

I think it is the camera. It picks up scratches you do not normally see with a loupe. I have bought coins and then taken pictures later and found things I never saw before. And the USB scope will show you to many things you do not need to see.....
