Banging my head against the wall lately with the elusive half dozen or so Morgans needed to complete the circulation set.  No premium for a VAM-4 so I don't get it.

NGC price guide for 1880/79 cc GSA MS63 is $1100, you are looking at 1880 cc is why it's so low.

Yes, that's what I saw...that's a pretty big differentiator, the overdate. 

Eagle, does NGC list a price for the overdate ?  PCGS ?

Yes it is $1100. I never see any GSA coins going for that price they always bid out way to high.

I see it now. I thought it was a regular 1880 at first also.

A large proportion of all 1880 silver dollars are /79. Greater visibility = greater premium.

PS: The GSA silver dollars were not a "hoard." They were not amassed intentionally,

Still, $1,100 guide price and a $1,443 reserve.  Story of my Morgan collection woes lately.  Well, just have to wait it out some more.

I see that now, but still $1,443 reserve?  Must be what they want plus the GC fees.

And the majority of what I'm missing for the complete Morgan circulation set I have been working on are earlier date CC's, and of course the 1893-S
