Popular Post ldhair
I'll start with this little lady. I bought it as an AU but it came back as 62. Hoghead515, CIII, Lem E and 4 others
Popular Post Coinbuf
I am a fan of the seated design, but I only have a few type examples of each denomination in my collection. I would enjoy putting together a nice date run of dimes or half dimes someday, not sure if that will ever happen given my appetite for other series. I bought this coin from Gerry about a year or two back, these are photos taken by Mark Goodman. Popular Post Sandon
So far no one has posted an example of the Stars Obverse (1838-60) type. Here's an 1845 NGC graded MS 63, my only uncirculated specimen of this type. (Photos courtesy of Stack's Bowers Galleries.) Popular Post Coinbuf
I have always wanted a no stars type, this early design is so clean and seems less cluttered to my eye on a small coin. So when this was offered on the BST ats I was happy to add it to my collection, the NOLA mintmark is also cool as I believe this was the first year for dime production at the NOLA mint. Photos curtesy of the PCGS member that I bought it from. rrantique, Rod D., robec1347 and 6 others

Popular Post Sandon
While the originally posted 1866-S is scarce, especially in higher grades, here's one of mine that I'm sure even Gerry Fortin doesn't get to handle very often, an 1885-S! This coin is graded F 15 by PCGS. I've been proud to own it since 1999. ShinyObjects, rrantique, Coinbuf and 4 others

Popular Post Coinbuf
This is the w/arrows type coin in my 7070 album, somewhat crusty looking but cleaned and retoned. Popular Post ldhair
This is an interesting coin with a sad history. The obverse was struck with a rusty die but the coin was left in a PVC auction flip for many years. The PVC damaged the coin. The 49-O is a really tough coin but the damage killed it. It will never straight grade. rrantique, Hoghead515, Coinbuf and 2 others
Popular Post Hoghead515
Hope this is allowed in this thread. This is the closest thing Ive got is a half dime. I do got a cc seated dime but its worn so bad you can almost see through it. I cant remember the date but its in a flip hidden somewhere in the house. Its a miracle you can still see the cc. Its very circulated. Photo courtesy by HH Amature Photography. I really need to find a way to get better pictures. Been thinking about trying to get a good camera. Sorry they are so sloppy. I just got a phone camera and it will not take a good picture at all. ShinyObjects, rrantique, CIII and 2 others

Split-grade city. As regarding the reverse, I award it an AU-58. (That ought to keep the nitpicker's over "wear" on the highlights at bay.) My sincere condolences on the obverse. I am afraid I am going to have to break with tradition here and take exception to the insidious insinuation seamlessly slipped in here, as illustrated with the following dialogue: Q.A.: This [fortin 108 varieties] one of yours? 🐓 : Yeah, why? Q.A.: You saw the memo! Any damage to these [108s] must be avoided entirely or, absent that, kept to an absolute minimum. No exceptions! To what authoritative source do you attribute this highly subjective conjecture masquerading as fact? Not even a coelacanth has been around long enough to have conducted a personal inspection of every member of this sub-fraternity known to man, to date. How would we know a proof die crack devotee hasn't similarly developed an affinity for this variety and accumulated a multi-generational hoard of same.
