New Inventory 1 1

I stopped by my local shop to see what was going on. I check things out once a week. The head coin dealer passed away this summer. I have some of his graded Morgan's in my set and a few ungraded and graded Nickels. Most of his coins are graded by him and in these basement holders that he used for all his raw coins. I have to say he was very good at grading coins. So anyway his wife is now bringing in coins that he would not normally have brought in. I have also been told that this is not even a fraction of what he left for her. Most of the prices are high retail but I have to say it is some cool looking stuff. I took some shots through the glass counter so the pictures are not that great but I think you can get a idea of the kinda stuff this guy had.

Nice group but you are not likely to find any bargains in those. If you are going to pay high retail why not just buy graded examples.

No bargains here I agree Bill. Like I said I bought some graded coins from him and a few ungraded nickels . I was always able to get a good deal below 1/2 price .  I am not sure if the wife will give the same deals. But I still like the fact that she is at least bringing in some of the inventory to look at. I am sure she will sell some of it for the full price or close to it. I wish her luck.

Cool coins!  If she is knowledgeable, she should be willing to deal.  If never hurts to ask when you are taking the risk.

I'm surprised....unless she is well-off and doesn't need the $$$, I would think she'd be looking to get rid of the coins ASAP....unless she wants to keep working in the store because it keeps her occupied.  Guess it would depend on her age.

This collector had so many coins, like rooms full. I have been told that she most likely will be ok weather she sells or not.
