What is the funniest/strangest thing you have seen at a coin show? 2 2

Last weekend I went to a local coin show (I do this a LOT).  While there, I was standing at a table and an older gentleman came up, and asked for his "BIG bag of foreign".  The dealer charged the old man $5 for a gallon ziplock half filled with a mishmash of foreign coins.  He hung out for a bit and started chatting.  He turned to me and said...

Older Gentlemen:  "You can build the biggest foreign coin collection for free."

Me: "I know that foreign coins can be affordable, but free?"

OG: "Less than free... you can "make money" collecting foreign like this!"

 Me: "How?"

OG:  "We minted a lot of these coins in the US.  Many of them are the same size of US coins.  I feed the parking meter with them, and save all the off-sized coins for my collection.  I got this whole bag for $5, and there is probably $20+ in change in here."

Me: "I saw the movie Cool Hand Luke.  That's not cutting the heads off the meter, but... certainly not going to go over well with the patrol officer."

The older man laughed at me.  I never felt like such a "goodie-goodie" in my whole life... this gentlemen, pushing 85 years old, was a rebel compared to me at that moment.  

So, I jay-walked back to my car after the show.  I hope he was watching... because I looked like a real tough guy crossing that street.

Well one year at the FUN show in Orlando with my wife i was walking up and down the rows just oblivious to all of the surondings.  I asked the guy at the Wizard supply counter where i could find the 2 X 2 flips.  he pointed down the row and i took off not realising that i had left my wife in the dust. well anyway i reached over without looking and gave what i thought was my wife a quick tap on the rear.  saying : " come on honey this way!!" next thing i know i looked in the other direction to hear my wife saying "Honey i am  over here"  well to look back and see that expresion on the ladies face was priceless!!!  OOOOPPPPSSS  i dont have clue who she was...............

People always leave their foreign change and even some American money gets spit out in the change machine lol. Hardly anyone checks that tray and the magnet under the lid that collects the metal ones is easy to knock them down into the return. I use all my collected Canadian quarters to do my laundry😂

Ok.... that is a good one TJ (not VKurt by the way...LOL).  But (pun intended), is that some type of Pareidolia I'm seeing there? Is it just me, or does the guy in the red hat appear to be looking down at this gentleman's derrière?  Now that's gross!

At this last Long Beach show I saw a guy I haven't seen in MANY years. He used to post on the forums ATS. Someone told me he had died. Needless to say I was surprised when he walked past me. 

Two people who witnessed this told me the story: A dealer was upset with his wife who was helping him at the table and he grabbed her and started spanking her across his lap. I guess that's why they call it the FUN show...

It's not exactly funny, but I was at a big New York City coin convention in the 1970s that was in the basement of the Sheraton Park Central Hotel. A guy who looked like "His elevator didn't make it to the top" tried to steal a coin and run up the stairs with it. There was a big commotion, and he was tackled right away. 

And what was he trying to steal? A Proof silver Ike Dollar that might have been worth $25 at the time. Not exactly something that is worth going to jail for.
