First, coins are not printed, banknotes are printed. Coins are struck or stamped.

Yes, it looks like someone has tried to cut it, PMD.

Thanks, pressed or struck, not printed. But why? Would there be a reason to try to cut it? Art project? It wouldn't have been worth much more cut, I guess.

Asking yourself why when you look at defaced coins will rarely lead to a definitive answer but will often lead to a headache. People do crazy things to coins, and honestly I don’t think there is a reason mostly other than it seemed like a good idea at the time.
