Popular Post Just Bob
That is not a planchet. It is a knock-out plug from an electrical box, or some other non-coin disc. bsshog40, MARK RAMIREZ and MAULEMALL

The only problem I see is if it's magnetic, it would have to be a 1943 planchet. A 1943 planchet weighs 2.7g. Can you put a pair of calipers to it and see what size it is? A 1943 planchet is 19mm. Also a pic of the edge would be nice. Edited December 15, 2020 by bsshog40 MARK RAMIREZ

Conder101
It is a blank punched out of a piece of flat metal that is magnetic. There really isn't any way to say whether it is a type 1 coin blank or just a slug without comparing it to every magnetic coin type in the world to see if there is a size and weight match. I'm with JB.. one edge looks to rounded for it to have been punched at the mint.. MARK RAMIREZ
Henri Charriere
For what it's worth, these blanks with beveled edges may be found all over the streets of New York. I always thought they were simply pre-punched washers. I never knew of the electrical connection. MARK RAMIREZ
Hoghead515
I found a couple while metal detecting. I thought they were coins. Got them home and sprayed them off with water and noticed they were just plugs knocked out of an electric box. I did also find a very awsome Lord's prayer dog tag. It was in very good shape. The old man that lived there before us was in WW2 so I figured it was probably his. MARK RAMIREZ and MAULEMALL

Conder101
Knock out plugs typically have a rough edge or tab where the plug was attached to the rest of the electrical box. This piece does not appear to have that. It look to be a slug cleaning punched out of a metal strip or plate. The one flat sharp edge side and one rounded edge side it exactly what you would normally see on a punched slug or a type 1 blank.
