Well I wish I had some classic gold, but thanks to my late wife as a Christmas present, this is the only piece I have. It will be with me as long as I am here!!

part 2

the 1905-s is very close to PL but i do not think i will try to submit it, the obverse would for sure make the cut but the reverse has some weak points, i still like it and i got a fantastic deal on it at local show, the person had it priced with common date stuff and it is slightly better coin

I picked these two pieces up at FUN.

This 1798 "spade guinea" was so nice I couldn't resist it despite the fact that I thought the price was on the high side. It is called a "spade guinea" because of the shape of the shield on the reverse. This is a common date in the series, but it seems to me that many of these pieces have a lot more marks. This one was conservatively graded as an AU-55.

Here is a U.S. half eagle ($5 gold) which is about the same size as the British piece.

And here is a very nice King George V sovereign. This one is graded MS-65 and it has "wings.";)

Really nice gold to show off! Keep it going!! This post just teaching me something new today: Charlotte mint! (I have been collecting coins since I was 15, now 29, and I don't even know Charlotte mint existed! I was focused on Morgan Dollar and several other coins that minted from Denver, Philadelphia, Carson City, San Francisco, New Orleans, and West Point.)

1838-C quarter eagle. I wish that I could find a nice example of her big $5 gold sister!

An 1857-O quarter eagle that was once in the Brand collection ...
