This seller gave me a great Christmas present on ebay!

[Sanity Lost]

I really enjoy proof issues from the late 1800's, but I found myself browsing classic commemoratives on ebay after returning from a family gathering. Lo and behold, I stumble upon this MS67 1936 Texas Commemorative for sale at $350. I jumped on it, now it's just a matter of waiting until I have this late Christmas present in hand.

Looks like its molded in a plaster paris of luster.

I like the coin, but I don't know if all the needed luster is there for a MS67 grade. Happy holidays!

I like commemoratives but I am not 'into' them and do not collect them but how can you not admire THAT coin??!!

Now then, it also helps that I live about a mile away from the San Jacinto batteground. This piece represents history that I feel connected to on a personal level, having lived so close to the San Jacinto Monument for my entire life.
