Spotted a nice old Rattler with a Gold CAC - and thought this would be a great addition to my MS Barber Dime Date Set...

Picked up a few Quarters for the Everyman set...

Why this isn't in an AU 58 + holder is beyond me....

A couple of new Dimes as well which I forgot to post:

This 1906 is a Duplicate in MS 64 - although moderately toned - it pales in comparison to my primary example - posted earlier. This coin was just too nice to let pass me by.

This next coin is a BEAR - a real BEAR to find in anything close to AU - and although its not exactly in the grade I want this date in - prefer an AU 58 - this will have to make do - as it could easily take me many years to locate another which remotely comes close to this level. I chased this coin for a few weeks and finally nailed it. Actually, I'm pretty happy about getting it.

I think I missed one - will reedit this post once I realize what is missing.

Yup - I missed posting this MS 1915 for the Date Set

Spotted this Quarter - thought it was a nice addition to my new set:

( will have to add it from Photobucket - seems the file size is too large. )

Not many people care for deeply crusted coins like the 96-S half you posted, and it's a shame. They just dip the color right out and ruin the coins. I think it's such a stunning coin, and you sure don't see many like it!

Thanks, Frank. Yes it's a PL - and mildly reflective. I just sent it along with 8 more

AU Barber Quarters to CAC for inspection. Once I receive them back, off to the

photographer they go. I will post images as soon as I can.

Justin, I thought I was thrilled with the 1896-S Half in my set in a PCGS 40 holder.

It has the look that attracts serious collectors. I was chatting with Glenn via text and he

said he had a few Dimes I might be interested in... Which there was, a 1907-S in AU 53.

What he neglected to tell me was that he just listed the new 96-S Half in AU 50. Don't get

me wrong, I love all Barbers, and could easily start yet another set, but I am enjoying just

upgrading a coin here or there. Well, the new 96-S in AU 50 is already on its way to CAC.

My other 96-S in XF 40 is on it's way to Glenn ( sorry it wasn't with him at ANA ) and he'll

have it at Long Beach is it hasn't sold by then. This coin was off the market for years and

was in raw state and sent to PCGS in December.

Ok, happy hunting everyone !!

Well, if that 96-S doesn't CAC, remind me not to send my coins there.

Glenn sounded like he was having a good show, so I imagine that 96-S in 40 is long gone. That date doesn't tend to sit around. Especially not ones with eye appeal. He had such a good show, I bought a coin from his site and he shipped it to me from New Orleans! (worship)

A little something that cried out to me --- its too pretty to leave in a dealers inventory box - its in a lowly MS grade - and although it doesn't hold a candle to my MS 64, it sure is mighty pretty !

Just received Messydesk's images of a Bakers Dozen of my more recent Barber coins.

Here's an 1892-P - Quarter from Ponyexpress Coins - Holsonbake Numismatics -

and its the start of another AU collection. No MS coins will be allowed !

1892-PQuarterPCGS55CACDual_zps935e9796.jpg

At the moment - another half dozen Barber Quarters are now at CAC.

Once received back, I'll have those coins imaged as well.

I'll be adding additional images on a daily basis.

I know, I need to add the new images that Messydesk [ John Baumgart ]

has taken of the last group he imaged for me - I am waiting for the CD

so I can show decent detailed images. Soon, I promise, very soon.

Here's a new addition to the most recent Quarter collection -

............. yes, its in a CAC holder................. I've got more

coins for John to image ... but these are not too bad for seller's images.

I got my CD today with my new images of a bunch of MS Dimes...

I hope the size is correct - I don't want to be hassled with Photobucket ...

[ as this system only allows 5 images - and each coin has three images -

it looks like I'll be adding one coin a post ! hm

The 05-S above is a favorite of mine - and I am glad I kept it out of my last

auction - and the coin looks exactly like this in hand. The only thing that is

impossible to capture is the flash the luster gives when you swirl the holder

in hand !

Here's another from the last group to be imaged::

The last three dimes are terrific. Not sure which I like best...maybe the 05-S.

On the 03-O quarter I'd guess MS62 or an AU grade. I see hairlines....

Jom,

You have to "love" photobucket - I tried to organize the coins by date - forget about it ! Its all well and good that at least I have categories - but it sure would be helpful to have dates in consecutive order.

Anyhow - here is another group of images:
