I just received the CD with all the images of the dozen Dimes I had imaged.

I will follow up later with an edit to this post to show them off. Messydesk was

the photographer.

I have other images of the missing dates - but I have posted those before.

These are the newest images of a dozen newer Barber Dimes...

The YN who assisted Glenn and I at FUN has decided to sell off off his

AU 58 Collection - and I just found out about it this morning. Sorry but

he had already sold the nicest 1900-P Halves I have ever seen with great

rim toning on the OBV. Guess if you snooze, you loose.

I was able to text him and this little baby is on its way to me, its a coin I

found at FUN for him as I took his 1907-P and he only wated a type coin.

This is an upgrade for my 1903-P in 53.

I love that 1895-P dime (PCGS 64) posted a couple threads up! (thumbs u

Also Mike, just wondering, what's the grade on that 1893 upgraded Half (three posts up)? I'd throw a guess of AU 50/53 range. I also really like that one!

Brandon,

I also fell in love with the 1895 Dime the moment I laid eyes on her.

There was another collector who was at the dealer's table before I

had looked at his cases. The collector was occupying an entire case

and seemed to want to block anyone from looking at the case's contents.

I was with Broadstruck at the time and we edged in to the left of the collector

in an open aisle space where I spotted the 1895 Dime. Still not saying anything

to the dealer, aside from Hello, I patiently waited for the collector to finally say

something. He did... " can I see the Barber Quarter in MS 67 ? "... My heart

jumped ... and my mouth uttered ..." I'd like your best price on the 1895 Dime".

The other collector was examining the fantastic Quarter he asked for as I

was peeling off $100's to pay for my newp.

You asked about my new 1893 Half... you think its a 50 ?

Its got WAY to much detail for a 50 !! ...you think it might be a 53 ?

Its close ... but if you really look at the detail it'll show you its a true ....

Keyman64 - Greg:

Yes I have been busy - especially since I retired in 2011. The group of Dimes

imaged are not all new coins - some I have had awhile but never had imaged.

I just put together another submission to Messydesk for a half dozen or so Dimes.

My MS Date Set of Barber Dimes is now at 78% - and the only ones left are

the more common ones ! The complete set is missing a few tough coins - I did

locate one missing coin - the 1895-O in AU 55 - but will have to hold off until

I sell off a few things that no longer interest me anymore. The other very tough

date which I have only found once, in my 2nd set of Dimes - was the 1909-S.

Try and locate one in AU 50, 53, 55 or 58 !! Can't do it !!

Oddly enough some common dated coins have proved to be quite scarce:

try and locate a nice 1906-O in AU... let me know, would ya ?

I have family coming down to visit me the first two weeks of April so I won't be

going to the Central Florida show in Lakewood next month. Have fun when you

do go.

Just picked this up for the newest set of Quarters -

it'll be a very slow process, I assure you !!

Just a nicely struck Quarter - no major abrasions -

light rim toning - and a sure pleaser.

Just got this one back from NGC today. It's graded XF40. It's not as nice as some of the better pieces I've seen so far on this thread, but it is special to me because this is the first coin graded XF40, according to the NGC Population Census. I think this is a nice example of a circulated coin that still shows some good details. For those who would like to see the Cert. Page, the number is 2598005-007.

Deerefan8420...I was waiting for you to post that very original Quarter !

Good job there - and a POP ONE is nothing to be overlooked !

Although I like all Barbers... Quarters are still my favorite.

I am very happy with this coin. I prefer the Half Dollars over the quarters, mostly because I like the larger coins, but I think this will be a piece that I hang on to for quite a while.

One of the YN's from Summer Seminars at the ANA texted me tonight - he remembered that I was looking for an AU Dime - 1916-S ...

It was just listed and I grabbed it [ sorry no reverse images ]

The Gals at JJ Teaparty sent me an email showing their newps.

I spotted two minor upgrades for my latest Dime set and one old

friend. Both of these coins are both quite nice for their grades. Looks

like the kiddo gets a couple new coins for his collection, provided his

grades are up to snuff.

This 1911-D was originally purchased raw from Dave Lawrence, in 1995.

I placed it in my Dansco - and had that raw set certified - half here and the

other half ATS - back in 2009. I'm thrilled to have it back again.

Agreed, I don't see much of an improvement from the last one. I bet I pass on more of their coins because of their photography than actual ugliness of the coins.

I used to kid Gail all the time saying the photographer was as blind as a bat

because his lenses are always out of focus. She hated their old system, and now

loves what they are now using. The flat screen scans are decent enough to tell

approximately what you will be receiving. The coin in hand is always nicer than

it's images - so - that's always a good thing.

I placed four bids on this weekend Heritage auction - and was blown out of the

water on an SLQ - which I already had the date of in the same grade and service,

but there are FH's and then there are Full Heads !! The coin I lost out on was an

ULTIMATE FULL HEAD. ... :sorry:

But on the Barber front, I picked up two MS Dimes for the date set, and a nice upgrade

for the Half set. It seems the size of the Half is too large to post. Off to photobucket to

get the images up.

That's a nice one Mike. What do you feel the reason is for the MS62. It seems nicer. Hairlines?

Coin was sent Registered Mail and should be here by the weekend.

I have blown the coin up on my iPad and I have seen / scrutinized

it to a fair thee well... I see no hair lines... I do see a few unobtrusive

reeding marks - but nothing that would have limited the coin to a 62.

Heck, I have seen worse in a 64 holder.

I bought the coin because its almost a dead ringer match to my 1901.

( which just so happens to be my all time favorite Barber ! )

Just picked up a nice golden common date - 1916 Phila. Looks a lot

more like a 64 than a 63... So... I grabbed it this morning on line on eBay.

Will add images once I get off the iPad... Seems the images are too large

to post here directly.
