  1. those coins are a perfect example of why I think paying more for "red" copper is silly...what beautiful natural color...

I finally caught up on some slabbing...here are 10 coins ( so I provided an easy link instead)...they are for "Chapter 2 of my sailing ship themed collection ( I filled the max 150 slots of my other set so I started a second set)... http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/ViewPersonalCollection.aspx?UserCollectionID=2029&Tab=gallery

  2. :golfclap: I was a few pages behind since my last visit and wow....I still can't get over that Lincoln proof set...what beautiful coins and so well matched...the capped bust dime and a nice mercury too...good stuff e1...

my latest for the Walkers..1946-D ( got it from the Scotsman auction) and a 1945-S * star coin(trade with a board member) for my Walker short set and Merc short set

  3. the more I look at that medal Yarm--I noticed something,

the reverse wreath is IDENTICAL to the wreath on a US 3 cent nickel...but since your Victorian medal is dated 1842 and our 3 cent piece started in 1865, I'd guess that the 3 cent nickel designer may have plagarized the design....hmmmm hm

nevermind, the more I studied it there are slight differences, especially the double looped bow

  4. simply gorgeous rey...I absolutely love that rich, brown color....

here are my three primary purchases from the ANA World's Fair of Money....

first is a Polish 10zy I got at the Poland Mint table in the "Mints of The World" area

second is a nice Nicaragua 10 Cordobas piece with the ship La Nautica (wonderful "oyster shell" luster)

and finally, my big snag--a hard to find 1963 Israel 5 Lirot Proof with stunning toning and underlying mirrors ( which I can't photo well because the coin has a strange concavity to it)...anyhow..enjoy..

PS: rey, I saw some great Railroad/locomotive coins at the Canadian mint table--just released

PPS: Rial--I also saw a fantastic coin at the Austrian Mint Table, it is a Commem to the Philharmonic

  5. I'm gonna half dodge the question because value is simply proportionate to demand..and that would mean that the values are simply what someone is willing to pay--a thousand for a barely readable 1916-D dime???..why not if someone pays it, that's the value...

however if the question was intended to refer to prices versus the mintages--there is no question that the 3CN has super low mintages and is affordable to almost all collectors...3CN hands down
