Wow Jon that Nickel is a knockout and....
Some real sweet Barbers
Picked these three dimes up today from another collector [ 1896-O;1904-S; 1911-D ]
All are PCGS 58 - and all upgrades for my certified AU 55's.
One of these days, I'll get the raw collection imaged, they're
all in the 55-58 range as well.

I like it, Shane. (thumbs u Interesting combo... toner and cameo. Is there any toning on the reverse? I have never followed toned Franklin proofs, so I'm up in the air as to the toning, but my best guess if it's a one sided toner is that it was in an album.
No toning on the reverse.....it's an odd bird for sure but I like the cameo look on the reverse and the toning on the obverse...would normally expect to see some rim toning on the reverse as well? Almost like the reverse was in a cointain and they left the top half off off or something which allowed the obverse to tone...know what I mean

The last 2 posts could possibly be the biggest spread in grades of two identical dated coins in the history of this forum

Yes, its another Franklin.
Yes, its another 1958 Franklin.
Yes, its a white 1958 Franklin? What?
Its a Type II reverse 1958 Franklin graded NGC MS-65. The bell lines are definitely weak, no FBL possibilities here.
It was also refreshingly simple to photograph. I only took two shots of either side. This is in stark contrast to the last coin I bought, and the next coin I bought (which I haven't paid for yet, so I haven't seen yet, I'll let y'all in on it when it comes )
Anyways, here it is. The full writeup will be coming tomorrow!
I am just glad I didn't teach you the TCCS secret handshake......you are officially out of the club

Here is the only graded one I own...

Hey Jason,
The two coins were not from the same mint set. But they were submitted together from me.
And the images are the one's I took.
Here's Shane's images:
I can't tell our images apart anymore because I taught you my techniques and then you used the same background and camera so

Those 2 58's would look awesome in a multi-holder side by side!!
The thought had crossed my mind....
Just looking at them again, I happened to notice that they are consecutive serial numbers on the slab. Looks like they came from the same mint set, which would explain why they look so much alike! Haha, reunited at last. I wonder where the rest of the set is?
Yep my pictures and i was the submitter of those coins....I believe I sent them in for Chris (PCcoins), which is probably who you purchased them from? I know I sent in some more halves and dimes etc for him but I don't remember if anymore of them were from the same set as the halves
-
I have a couple of 1950-D Nickels raw.....never imaged them though as they are pretty common I believe they are toned as well but I haven't looked at them in years......
-
I recognize some of those coins sy
-
Nice additions to your 58 club
-
Well I seen this coin for auction and I just had to have it!!
I was going to bid on that sample slab....good thing I didn't cause I would have just run up your bid (thumbs u
-
Nice Barber.....I like that toning on that one
-
The real story is that I used my Delorean to go back to 1908 and purchase the Double Eagles......
Then I reappeared in the 1960's so I could get them transferred into modern bags to help erase any suspicions others would have if they found my pristine bags of gold coins stored in hundred year old bags.
Finally my cousin Vinny helped me smuggle the coins back into the bank using a vintage Wells Fargo Stage Coach.
The coins weren't actually stored in a Wells fargo Bank....we just used the stage coach name as we thought it would sound better then the Banco Popular hoard
TM
Any questions?
-
Well.......I was bored the other day and decided to scroll eBay real fast to see if there was any deals!!
I came across this one with only 1 hour left.
There was no bids and the seller starting price was $49.95 w/free shipping.
I decided to bid $60.09........I never really thought I was going to win.
I WON no one bid against me..............the toning is much better in hand...(sellers picture)..I can't picture the toning for some reason!!
I think you wanted to post this in the newps section
-
How about both....
