  1. I agree. To me, it gives off home shopping network vibes.
  2. It's best to get things like this encapsulated. That way they can't incidentally touch other unlucky coins and lose potency.
  3. My opinion was PR66 or even R67. I'll split the difference at PR66+
  4. Hello hr1704. These appears to be on NGC coins where imaging was selected. I'm just now seeing it on coins I submitted and paid for imaging and am pretty happy about it. I thought NGC just sent these photos to the original submitter. I'm pleased to see they are now shown in cert look-up! If true, this is big news in my opinion.
  5. The only help I can offer is a photo of a 1621 Denar I own that is PCGS certified. Smaller coin but same time period.
  6. I was given one as I walked into a gas station somewhere in Texas during a two day drive. I think I looked pretty rough and some kind soul thought I was down on my luck or needed some guidance.
  7. If the submitter paid for variety attribution and it's a known NGC accepted variety, it should get the FS number.
  8. Thank you Sandon and everyone for your responses. I'll keep the coin as is with a label maker note of DDR FS-801. I was only considering the attribution/sell route if the premium was very significant. Sandon, the dealer names you shared are very helpful and I may reach out to one if I decide to sell.
  9. Seated halves are not my main collecting interest. I picked this up for a 19th century type set. One of the things that attracted me to it was the doubling on the reverse and the small die crack in "OF". There is no variety on the slab and it was not marketed as a DDR or any variety. PCGS graded it as AU50. Can anyone confirm my opinion that it's FS-801? Can anyone comment on the rarity/price of the variety in this grade? Is it worth getting reslabbed with the variety confirmed by a TPG? Thanks for any input.
