  1. I thank you for you honest opinion I have seen many of your posts and you always look to be a straight shooter. I am pleased to know the dealer has a good eye also saying it is a 63 that also makes me happy.
  2. Yes I also noticed those marks when I purchased the coin they are not deep just brushed the surface like bag marks from another coins edge or letters from the looks of the spacing
  3. I was just reading about that coin in the new 2022 Redbook I got today . Maybe that is why there are two extra spaces in the 2010-2021 Whitman Park Quarters book I got . It looks Like they have a P,D,S mints with a 2021S .999 silver available also. Cool
  4. Thanks Hoghead, Deep Mirror yes I have heard of that . It is shiny but I don't think it is that shiny
  5. I did get a good deal on this 1901-0 it is already up 16% from the asking price for it a week ago. There are 3 types of grade for Morgan's listed... MS, PL and ( not sure what DMPL is ) I think it would not be worth the cost of grading unless it is PL 63 or better.
  6. So my next big coin question is ? I think we have a lot of expert coin graders in the forum and this Morgan I got is very nice so I took some shots with my handy microscope and wanted to know if you all think the dealer of 30 years in business grade of MS63 is a close match. I have looked at it closely and find it in really good shape with minor bag marks. Has it been cleaned ? I don't think so but who's to say. I opened the folder to get the weight of the coin and get better shots for you all to look at and share your thoughts.
  7. LoL yes Quintus it is a far better case for sure no disrespect to PCGS it was kind of a joke. When I was at the coin dealer I actually bought 2 in those round cases the first year 1986 and the last year 2021of that series of Eagles. I am amazed to see the quality in the cut of the die and strike from old to new.
  8. Yes thanks Bill. I thought it was a Philly but it is always good to ask. What a markup just to put it in a PCGS slab. Mine looks just as good if not better for $35 and $3 for the case
  9. Yes perhaps it not being a rarity just a normal coin for 2021 it merits no listing yet
  10. I got the new 2022 Red Book today and there is no listing for the new 2021 Silver eagle that has no mint mark. I just got one. I am guessing it is minted in Philadelphia but there is no listing in the book only 2021W and 2021S. Would anyone here know the reason why? Here is a shot of the coin and page for it.
  11. It looks like some could be die cracks but it is a slabbed coin which will make it hard for you to look at a good angle or feel the raised crack ?
  12. I also found this Girl hiding in the 1/2 price box and had to have her so for $15 she is walking home with me.
  13. Another good day in town I found the Silver Proof set i was missing ,I have the 94 and 96 but wanted the 1995 it was the more expensive set of the 3 and most places wanted $65 or higher for it and today I got one for $50 so yay again
  14. Ya she is nice and bright white. Here is a shot you might like.
  15. I just picked what I liked and thought looked good. The Morgan was the sweetie no wear on it to speak of real nice luster some miner bag marks nothing big
  16. I think we did ok today ,The dealer was a good guy we had fun. I found the 3 piece set to finish my 1976 collection and some nice looking Silver all for $125.00 1901-O Morgan MS 63 ? 1958 + 1964 Quarters. I asked if I spend over $100 do i get a deal so he gave me a 1922-S Peace in VG condition just for the hell of it.
  17. I agree and dealers know what they have and what it is worth. I find it is always a good practice to ask you guys for Ideas ,I always look for nice big rounds and proof sets, but hearing your comments gets me thinking of other coins to keep a eye out for like Lem's 1960 D and Hoghead quarters. All good stuff. in my price range with any luck .. LoL Thanks
  18. Ya I may need a few more C's for one of those sweeties.
  19. Thanks for the tip Coinbuf I will keep a eye out for oddballs, I was at one shop a while back and they had three good looking trays of Morgans a $40 ,$50,+ $75 tray.It was cool to see them laid out like that. But it would take me forever to pick out good raw coins like that LOL
  20. Ya it looks real cool. But it is hard to say for sure. I find I have to look at the new coins from so many different angles the reflections play tricks with the microscope.
  21. Hi All . I am going shopping to some of the coin dealers around the Charlotte NC area tomorrow.I am always look for odd stuff but wanted to ask you guys and gals thoughts on (What's Hot). Like a date or mint mark Morgans I should be keeping a eye out for maybe?. I know everyone has different tastes in coins they like but any thoughts of coins to keep a look out for would be awesome, any help would be appreciated. and it may turn out to be a fun topic
  22. Yes it is sad that people can take something innocent and turn it into something dark, The organisation trained young men to be your best do your duty and be respectable to others it was a American Legacy, I was a Boy Scout before all the hoopla and one of my Grandsons just got his Eagle Scout Award not long ago. I am not into commemorative coins (so far LoL) but i was a good deal. So this will be his coin after I am gone.
  23. Well another nice find today a antique dealer had some nice commemorative coins so I picked up this anniversary issue of the Boy Scouts of America for $25
  24. We had a good time and I think we got a good enough deal at $35 a coin. I had a option of 3 cases and decided on this one it was more money but it made the coin more presentable and held the coin tighter than the other type cases.
  25. She did like the gold I think that will be next on the list. I am in luck she had a good time looking at the coins. a $1299.00 gold Indian head did catch her eye
