  1. Although I am new at this, I am gonna take a stab at answering your question. Please, though, don't rely on my answer, this is just a training exercise for me. My knowledgeable friends will surely chime in to offer their knowledge to you and correct or validate what I say. Anyway, so, here goes... Have you checked to see how much it will cost to have it graded? It is my understanding that it costs about $60 to do so. IF the premium for this error, if it proves to actually be one (I can't tell because I can't see it well enough), is not going to be enough to cover the grading, then... This my friend would be totally up to you as far as sending it to be graded. Is it worth it to you? If so, then by all means you need to do it and don't let anyone stop you. I have no knowledge as to what it would grade, however, but someone much more versed in coin can tell you their thoughts about that. (And thank you, Mr. Simpson, for allowing me to use your question to further my coin education.) Have a nice day, kind sir! Whew, now, my mentors, I am ready for y'all to either unbutter my biscuit or put a little jelly on it. I put my big girl britches on just for y'all πŸ˜‰
  2. I must say, that was classic. I literally laughed so hard at that. Francis will miss out on a lot.
  3. I am extremely new and thought about doing that at first also. However, after being on this forum for a hot minute, I have learned that spending 300+ dollars on having them graded is probably not the wisest decision, especially when the same mint set is available online for around $60. But, hopefully, they will grade well for you and you will come out ahead. Good luck!
  4. This number the arrow is pointing to IS a three. The penny you posted, however, is CLEARLY a two. These are NOT the same pennies. I am really trying to help you here, but you have got to pay attention.
  5. I an going to go ahead and send you a picture of what a three looks like... Yes, they all look slightly different but they all are the number three. Now, I am posting a picture of the number 2 I am now posting a picture of your coin with the number 2 inside a black box. I am sure you can see that what you have shown us is clearly a 2.
  6. No, I'm sorry but I sure don't. If you don't mind my asking, where do you see a three? I know I am really new at this, and I don't claim to know very much, but I am pretty well versed in my numerals/numbers. We might say them a little differently down here, but they all look pretty much the same. I would love a picture with the number three circled on it, if you don't mind.
  7. I think this was a very informative post. I know I learned something from it anyway. Thanks for posting.
  8. It really is! There is an abundance of knowledge within this forum and their willingness to share it publicly is unfathomable. I am grateful to have found these people and consider them all my friends.
  9. I find them quite often. They aren't always in the best condition, but I have quite a few. I just set them aside. Do you need any certain ones? I'll be glad to look and see if I have any you need and send them to you.
  10. Yes, it is! I am so glad that you picked up on that one! I have only been on here for about three weeks as I am sure you know. I have enjoyed reading some of your comments because I thought you to be quite an intelligent person, heck, I even got upset when Karen said what she did. I have always been on your side. But I guess that's just the way I was raised. Do unto others, ya know? Well, I am gonna keep on abiding by my raising because God is the only person I know who doesn't make mistakes and I'll just let Him deal with you. Lancek is very smart and I appreciate his feedback because I am still learning and as for me, I am going to go eat my pizza, drink my shake, and see if I can't find another way to make you smile! I think you will find that it is easier and less exhausting than frowning and being grumpy all the time. I hope you have a wonderful day, @Quintus Arrius. 😊
  11. Well, ladies and gentlemen, I did not have the coin analyzed, but I have come to my own conclusion that it is not what we'd hoped for. Thank you all for your encouragement... We will get em next time. Y'all have a great day and stay safe!
  12. Well, I'd have to find somewhere to put a bunch of horses if I left here, but if anything changes I will be sure to let you know right off the bat. 😊
  13. I know!!! Lol, ain't it just wonderful?!?!
  14. This one is gonna be short I promise... I think they are pretty great too... All of you! And if there is a hoard, I won't forget my friends. Lol
  15. Thank you! You know, I have been here less than three weeks and I can see exactly what you are saying. My daughter barrel races and at one point she would cry or just be sad if she didn't do well. Well, being the Southern mom that I am, of course I told her to put in her big girl britches and get over it or we weren't doing it anymore. Well, I didn't quite stop there, but told her, of course in a real, kind mommy way .. "When it stops being fun, or I see you frowning or stressing about it, that is when it stops." We have so many things to be thankful for EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. If we miss that coin at the auction, or somebody outbid us because we had to run to the bathroom, or whatever the situation, well you suck it up buttercup and realize that's part of the game and if you can't have fun while playing then don't play at all. I am just gonna keep it simple because I can keep my joy, that way. I probably won't ever buy a coin, but I might, but I don't have to. I am just impressed that I, yes this ole gal right here, can just hold a penny in my hand with my eyes closed and just about tell you in every single one of them which ones are before 1990,between 1990 and 2000,and 2000 and up. I think that is almost as amazing as @Just Bobrecognizing that coin with no more than that picture. Hoghead and I should be kin. We both know how to dish it out. Sorry, not sorry. Talk to y'all again in a jiffy.
  16. Awe, thank you. It's kinda funny. I don't know much about any of this ( I AM learning though), but I always seem to have plenty to say about it, lol. I enjoy "listening" to y'all too, some more than others, lol. I am really having a great time just learning and trying to figure it out... All of it. That's why I am such a pain sometimes... I don't always know all the correct terminology to ask a question straight to the point so I have to go around the whole cornfield to get to the corncrib. By then, I may have either lost all my corn or somehow gained ten ears. My point being, my mind just goes so much faster than my little hands can type and I have so much to ask that it may come out to be a mess, then my question doesn't get answered because it wasn't properly asked. For that I do sincerely apologize. If ever there's something I need to clarify please let me know for both our sakes. It would just be so much easier for me if I could see everybody face to face and you can see my hands, lol, they are very descriptive. Thanks again y'all and I'll say your welcome for another daily essay by Sharann πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
  17. Well, my gracious! It'd sure be nice if that happened. Then, no matter what condition they are in, that Pawn Stars place on TV says they'll pay top dollar. πŸ˜œπŸ€£πŸ˜‹πŸ€£πŸ€£
  18. I DO have a scale but the coin is not with me at the moment. I will weigh it and post the weight as soon as I can. Thanks
  19. I knew it would be a long shot without those. I just thought I would try. Thank you though and I will post them as soon as I can get them.
  20. This coin was found a few years ago in the ground while digging a garden. It has been sitting in the laundry room on a shelf ever since and still looks the exact same. This is the only picture I have right now, but will get more asap. I know it is a long shot, but can anyone tell what it could possibly be by this awful picture? I will post more pics and any other information I can as soon as I can. Thank y'all again😊
  21. Oh, I am so sorry. I thought you were just asking about the one letter "y". In the picture that I saw, it was clearly a glare from the lighting (kind of like an astigmatism in the eye). You failed to mention anything else. What exactly are you wanting me to look for? I don't know much but I know what I see and I'll be glad to tell you that.
  22. I took all those into consideration as well, just by thinking and what all of you have told me. It really amazes me that I thought about all these things and my question was which of the things cause the end result or was it a combination of factors. I did put it in simpler terms and did not ask as many questions in a true attempt to just get one answered. I am pretty sure that you and he have covered all the high points. I will probably get that book and read it soon because you seem to have a great understanding of the whole process and I want to as well. Thank you again for all your help πŸ™‚
  23. It makes sense so I am sure you are right... And that he was right. Thank you both. 😊
