Did you not appreciate the societal value of the old media’s “editing function”? Did you not realize there are perfectly valid reasons to not let every “You” (and Me) to be on the “Tube”? I don’t have a need to celebrate amateurism, even if the presenter’s backward baseball cap is especially fetching. Credentials matter. Always have. Always will.
Well, I don't know if I ever REALLY had that much faith in what they said and I certainly never gave them money, but they knew a lot more than I did. I did hear contradicting statements sometimes which led me to be more aware, but hey... everybody makes mistakes, right?
I was sheltered from social media so I truly did not know anything about it at all. I had to make my own YouTube channel several years ago to only share a few videos, that to my knowledge, couldn't have been shared any other way. I was not deceitful in my videos, nor am I in everyday life, so I was just an unsuspecting guinea pig, so to speak. I did realize immediately when I found this forum, that the knowledge and maturity of the people here far superceded anything I'd encountered previously, so in turn, I put my faith in what everyone here has told me since the first question I asked. I have not watched any type of coin guru on there since, and don't plan to again.
I have never been a computer person at all, so an editing function... What is that? Lol. I'm just saying that to answer your question... I had no idea. For the past twenty years I have been raising kids, nit playing on my computer.
And I am not asking anyone to celebrate anything, but I am just saying that just because one person doesn't deserve your respect, does not mean that everyone younger should be judged the same. I have read and really worked hard at getting where I am with numismatics and I know I don't fall into the same category as those you speak of so I should not be judged as so by you or anyone else.
Furthermore, it isn't only YouTube that has given out false information. I read an article, a reliable one at that (credentials) and was quickly corrected by @RWB when I stated an incorrect fact on the forum. I appreciated his doing that and gave him the information needed to let them k ow they were wrong, because I did not have credentials to do so myself.
I hope that answers your questions and no hard feelings. I just know how much time and energy I have put forth and how often I have researched, on my own, to keep from pestering all of you with trivial questions.
I hope you have a wonderful day and may all your round trips to Pennsylvania be safe and rewarding. 😉

This is PRECISELY why the younger generations will never gain the respect of us “Boomers”. I spent my son’s entire childhood attempting to repair the damage inflicted on him by the public schools with malicious intent, IMO.
Well, I just almost completely do not appreciate that at all. I have listened to absolutely everything I have been told from all of you and totally stopped watching anything on YT about coins. Watch out, now... I am sure @Hoghead is the same way. 😉

Hi, Karen. You don't know me and I don't know you.. Not really anyway. I DO know, however, that you are a not what you appear. I saw where you were on another site talking about the people here, who ARE my friends and, although they aren't redneck enough, and i really am not either, I will say it right now... You should really not be so two faced. I don't like ugly talk about my friends. Do unto others... And another thing... If you knew anything about phonics, much less grammar, you would have known that Schwarzenegger is not even close to how you tried to spell/pronounce it. That was very rude and you should be ashamed of yourself. So, now that I have said my piece, I hope you have a wonderful day because I definitely will knowing that I got this off my chest. ❤️

I just bought a camera for taking coin pics. A macro lens is what you need from what I have been told.

This information has not been verified, but thought I'd share anyway. I'm sure someone will inform me of it is incorrect 😉

Use a rock tumbler on it...give it about 6 hours in one then you will see it in all its glory, btw, the 3 if you turn it 90 degrees is actully a bust looking left...I recommend harbor freight tumber with natural aquarium gravel, a drop of dawn dish soap and keep it away from you cos the noise will drive you mad.
LOL, I just happen to have a rock tumbler here already. Thanks for the advice. I'll be trying it asap! 😉

Sorry, trouble editing here....... I thought oxycodone would be a better, better, I mean better remedy...... remedy........
And you are probably exactly right! My whole body hurts from trying to convince everyone that I have a clue what is going on with my Proud Potato 🥔. These people here really don't want to see anyone else do well. 😂

Only if you have posted fifteen different pictures of it. Fourteen simply are not sufficient.

I will gladly photograph my Proud Potato fifteen more times!!

That was Dahlonega, Georgia. What used to be a mint is now a raceway that was shown in film with some dude name Rick Rob or Rick Roll.
I couldn't have said it better myself 😂

Thanks 😁 but I told you it is copper. I even proved it by verifying its weight!!

That's a 'Biker' coin. I recognized it right off. An initiation thing, wad up a dollar bill, swallow it, and chase it with a Lincoln cent. They retrieve them a few days later and put them on the clubhouse wall on display by their name. Do you have the dollar bill that goes with it?
I can make one if that will make it worth more money! Should I do it?

Might have a touch of environmental damage. I also see an old cleaning. Suggest NGC Conservation to bring out it's true beauty.
Can you tell me of that costs extra?

Clearly it is the copper 1943 wide AM small date cent. Drive immediately to NGC HQ, well armed in case of theft, to have it slabbed.
Do you think I should take the other one I have as well? I have two of them. Sometimes I post the wrong one 🤦🏼♀️

Hi, Damien28. It would REALLY be best if each coin you are asking about is cropped away from all the others and each one put in its own thread. That way there is no mistaken which coin is being referred to.
Thank you and I am sure you will find the answers you need, maybe not the ones you seek, but honest ones anyway.
