  1. From what I understand if you brace the coin vertical and can see a #2 pencil reflecting off the surface of the coin then there's a chance the coin may be proof like.
  2. I don't consider the bullion version of ASE's as a collectible since there's an average of around 15 million minted each year yet alone an "Investment". I do however, consider the burnished version of ASE's as a collectible because they always have the least amount minted each year and are not guaranteed to be minted (check out 2009 and 2010) unlike the bullion version.
  3. I just bought this one a couple of days ago. Sorry if the picture is blurry as I'm trying to learn to take pictures of my coins.
  4. You asked a legitimate question and got legitimate answers so it's not a bother at all. As JT2 said don't trust any YT "Experts" as you will be misled more often than not whereas we'll tell you the truth about your coins.
  5. Only submit coins that are worth at least $400.00 or more in raw condition. For example, a classic gold eagle. This coin isn't worth submitting. Hope this helps.
  6. For future reference please post this type of question in the newbie section of the site as this part of the site is only for the buying and selling of coins. As for your coin I'd have to say maybe $20.00 or somewhere in that range as it's just a common date Peace Dollar. All Peace Dollars were minted in Philadelphia (no mint mark), Denver (D mint mark) or San Francisco (S mint mark). Hope this helps.
  7. Ain't that the truth. In fact this past Saturday I saw that a seller on Ebay with low 20's and sometimes lower feedback was trying to sell uncertified "Mint error" coins for a 1,000.00+ dollars . It's an outrage and most newbies to the hobby will fall victim. This could mean or explain the sudden surge of "Mint error" or "Variety " questions than we have been getting recently.
  8. Welcome to the world of social media everybody.
  9. Whenever I have a question about a coin I keep an open mind and not just assume that I'm right and everybody else is wrong. As I always say only the truly ignorant have a closed mind.
  10. This is just a very circulated 1958 D Lincoln wheat cent not a DDO or any other mint error.
  11. I'll make another one then we've got a deal. Glad to see that you guys share my sense of humor.
  12. On one hand I feel bad for the OP of that thread only because he / she received a counterfeit coin even though that OP seems to be getting their money back. Now on the other hand I don't feel bad for the OP of that thread since the OP of that thread is a newbie to the hobby thus that OP should have used good old fashion common sense and just bought a pre graded version of the coin in question until that OP becomes more experienced at identifying counterfeit coins.
  13. If you're so certain this is a new variety of a 1961 D Lincoln cent then submit it to NGC or PCGS for authentication / designation.
  14. I put a 1974 D Lincoln cent in a vice then I used my needle nose pliers and bent it. I guess it must be a US Mint error and worth a million dollars LoL.
  15. I guess you have every mint error know to man. Sorry no one's buying it. Any creditability you had here is completely destroyed.
