  1. Thanks Conder. The teller was just about to exchange the rolls but called the manager over and she did say she had to ship my rolls. I asked "to the Fed?" and did not get an answer. A lot of damaged and worn coins were in those rolls.I guess it is up to the armored car service, or the Fed to pull them out of circulation.
  2. The bank manager would not exchange roll for roll. My rolls are going to be shipped out. I am guessing going back to the Fed. The rolls they had in stock were for merchants only due to the coin shortage. I usually get my rolls from an in-store satellite branch no problem, but this was the main branch. At least I know the main branch does not keep my rejects. Will the Fed scan my coins and pull the really damaged ones out of circulation?
  3. I do not see how coins are able to "turn in holders". Do you mean the holders/slabs are cracked open after grading?
  4. Badly damaged. Worth only face value. In my opinion.
  5. Amazing that quarters with that many spots would grade that high. I have cast aside nice quarters with spots like those. Must be graded high because they are mint proofs.
  6. I am trying to do as much research and learning as possible before submitting any of my quarters. I am not in any hurry to sell at the moment. I do want to have a nice, organized coin collection to leave to my wife.
  7. I read that Coinstar is hoarding their coins. The evil empire of coins.
  8. Googled "gold wash coins" and ebay estate sales popped up. Very interesting. NEVER considered buying a bag of coins, but now I am thinking about it.
  9. Nice! I have noticed that the graded 2000 Massachusetts and Virginia quarters are keepers.
  10. Going through HA last night, noticed that graded 1999 State quarters, with the exception of the Georgia quarter have sold for premium prices. Also the 2001 New York. There is also what I am calling the HA "Big Ten": 02-P Ohio, the 03-P Illinois, Alabama, Maine, Missouri, the 04-D Michigan, 04-P Iowa, Wisconsin, the 05-P Kansas, and the 08-P&D Oklahoma. The 09 D.C. and Territories on top of all of the above. Sorry for the long post. Happy Hunting.
  11. Nice! Thanks for the heads up for Great Collections.
  12. Thanks. Not a big fan of the map holders. I have seen a six quarter lens holder at Dave's Coins for the 2009 quarters, but may send them in for grading. I have been using the five quarter lens holders for annual sets. Very gaudy indeed for not being proofs.
  13. Mainly just wanted to look at 2009 state quarter pricing. PCGS outnumbered NGC graded coins. A lot of MS67/68 grades. The coin search tool is well worth the free account sign up. It's like going down a rabbit hole, I could spend hours there. Could be the international sales driving up pricing.
  14. Has anybody used Heritage Auctions to buy or sell their graded coins? They were mentioned in a YouTube video I found researching state quarters. Signed up with them to check the sold at auction quarter prices and was amazed at the high dollar amounts that they are being sold for.
  15. Fake label perhaps? Ray Burns should spot real from fake coins.
  16. Brought in 2 rolls of PR condition AtB quarters to my RiteAid and the manager was extremely happy. He told me that Wells Fargo was limiting their change to $17.50 per day but just bumped it up to $22.50. Ended up grading and keeping just a little over a roll out of the four 2019 D ATB Lowell rolls I got from my bank.
  17. Great idea! My neighborhood RiteAid helps keep me alive too. No coin shortage signs at the CVS yet.
  18. I hate using Coinstar, but I am going to do my civic duty and cash in my cull jar. I dont like putting cull coins back into circulation.
  19. A friend in Las Vegas just told me that BofAs there are claiming to be short on staff. Long lines. ATMs do not have cash. A Rite Aid I go to is no cash back with debit cards here in Southern CA.
