Atleast the 76 set isn’t hazy. A ton of them are. But I think aside from that you will waste money doing anything other than enjoying them in original packaging. I can not overstate how common those mint and proof sets are, and most people can’t get someone to buy them. Planning to invest any more in them won’t do anything but throw good money after bad. Just enjoy them

    Thanks

what about Proof errors,, MS coins,,,?

Good. Start with one. But I predict this coin will have trouble getting PF69. A 67-68 is more likely.

Full steps doesn’t apply on both SMS and proofs. It is assumed because of the way they are manufactured. Same with full bands, full bell lines, etc.  It only applies to business strike coins. All of your mint and proof sets are common sets with as expected coins.

Show us pictures of the roll of 1909-S VDBs and the roll of 1879 CC Morgans. I would love to see those.

Not clear to my why Kevine84 is upset. He is not saying he got a roll of 1879-CC dollars from an estate sale, but several Unc rolls which included one 1879-CC, plus 3 or 4 other CCs and a mixture of other mints and dates. The cent roll resembles made-up rolls sold on ebay with a 1909-S on one end and a 1909-P VDB on the other -- misc stuff in between.

If the OP will ask questions and maybe post photos of some of the coins mentioned, members will likely be glad to help.

PS: The Eisenhower dollar in the photos appears to have small marks here and there, so it would not make Unc-70 and possibly not 69.

with the Ikes PF 70's are like unicorns.  and if you are looking for UC or DC  I wish you good luck my friend. those are hard to come by.  i have assmbled a set of both MS and PF  just becasue i wanted to do something crazy.... took some time but it is a good set..higher grades in the MS and PF can be a real challenge to find

The perspective that I have makes it all good.

These are from an estate sale

I got 90 Proof coin sets and 80 m I nt coin sets. Not all years but 70-90 weighted. The mint sets are represented in the middle by this coin.  Definitely some better.

I also got e rolls unc  Morgan's with an 1879cc and 3-4 more cc ND a slew of S,O AND p mints.  A really interesting penny roll 1909s and Vdb enders. A 1924p Peace dollar roll, 6 Erly 60's mint set Canada rolls and more

My Allocated coin cost all in puts me at sub-$1 per coin.

The Unicorns are huge wins. And most of the FT, FS FBL coins are high grade because there are just no "bad sets" unless you think the ones I put up are bad.

So hearing that this is less than anticipated is fine because there are other better coins other coins. Dates, errors and varieties

Today is my birthday. I feel blessed.

The diagnostics are slightly different for the proof small date 1970-S, but this does not seem to be one. That said, the premium is less on the proof version because AS A PERCENTAGE of the whole population, the proof is less rare compared with the business strike.

    I don't have a 70 but I have some good ones now

  6. Yes Thank you.

I finally found a beautiful example of a MS66 sick beautiful coin.  I see my mistake.  I was largely using the best I found on ebay to assume the best quality of the coin.  Problem is there is not a really great example.

I will definitely fill a few albums.  Then I'll peddle the other 3,000 somewhere but with a much more acceptable price.

    Thank you all.  This helps.
