Thanks for catching that JKK, good eye. It's been corrected.
I hate making typos, especially stupid ones.

Please do not believe anything that R420coins has stated on this posting. You just have to read some of his other posts to know why.
There is a saying that is very appropriate here "He knows not of what he speaks".

There are no errors on that coin. Just some minor damage. What you describe is impossible to happen during the striking of a coin.
It is known as called Pareidolia, seeing something that isn't there.

Greenstang got a reaction from TimSweet in Mint Coins Errors vs. Damage
    Welcome to the Chat Box-
Errors, damage and contact marks on Mint Coins are the same as those on Business Strikes.
The only time an error can occur is during the striking of the coin, anything that happens after that is damage.
If you could provide clear pictures of your coins of concern, somebody here will be able to identify whether error or damage.

Greenstang got a reaction from Crawtomatic in 1984 p rosevelt dime clad both sides
Don't waste your money sending it in, it I not an error.
It is environmental damage. I have seen this quite often. You can even see in the high areas where there is nickel showing through.
It can't be a dime on a copper planchet as a copper planchet would not fit in the collar of a dime.

Gotta agree with Conder101 on this one.
The fact that there seems to be no apparent damage to the field or devices of the coin under the strip indicates that it is something on top of the coin, probably glue.
You could probably remove it or giving it a acetone bath would also remove it.

How can you tell it's brass. Did you have it tested?
The only difference between brass and copper is the amount of zinc in the alloy which cannot be determined without testing.

That looks like two different acronyms.
The Ag stands for About Good, which is a grade 3. The Pr  stands for Poor which is the lowest Grade but is usually known as PO.
You beat me to it Bob

Greenstang got a reaction from TON Collection in What happened to this 1946 Lincoln cent? #Dated face
It is PMD but exactly what happened may be hard to tell unless you were there when the damage occurred.
One thing for sure though is that it did not happen during the striking of the coin.

    Can't be a proof.
Proofs were only struck at the Philadelphia Mint.
Also looks like it has been polished, too shiny for an original Morgan.

Greenstang got a reaction from Johnny Reed Collection in 1943 copper cent
Sorry to burst your bubble but neither one look like a 1943 copper cent.
Did you give the magnet test to the top one? It looks like some of the surface has been scraped off exposing the steel core.
The second one is copper but has been altered to look like a 3. See how close to the rim it is.
