  1. The OP kept his promise, deleted his PCGS account and never went back, but I keep returning to this thread. Hard to believe this is what it was like when I first became a member 2-3 years ago. Now the thundering herd has moved on and a kinder more gentler crowd has filled the ranks. The rain makers are still here but the noise makers have left. I am left here to fend for myself. [Now which is the accelerator, and which is the brake?] No finer group of people can be found outside NGC's sphere of influence. Man, I love this place! I was asked once how did it feel being banished. I said it was the exact equivalent of being hooked up to a respirator, and having the plug pulled.
  2. I certainly hope not. I green-lighted a procedure to correct atrial fibrilation--without asking a single question. Lenox Hill referred to me as PATIENT # 1, after the infusion with that drug nobody heard of. The more polite folks who didn't say I was nuts or crazy, simply settled for, Well, I would have done things differently. Not me. I'm not unlike that prisoner who ordered the guard at the gas chamber: "Step on the gas!" I like to keep things moving. 🐓
  3. I was given an Emergency Use Authorization "infusion," via Heparin lock, of Lilly's 4-vial BEBTELOVIMAB. I was told no one's heard of it; nobody knows anything about it. When you've fallen and hurt yourself, your game for anything. My problem is, I am a people pleaser. A polite way of saying, "we've got a live guinea pig here!"
  4. I fell, I could not get back up, was taken to the E.R. where the spectre of Covid-19 reared its ugly head. Can't do nothing until the infection is abated; self-tested my wife: she was positive. I told her you must go to the E.R.--by yourself. Because she requested a Covid-19 test, the E.R. referred her to an Urgent Care Center a few blocks away. They inadvertently discovered elevate liver enzymes and a high blood glucose level: she was directed back to the E.R. We are both now Negative. I was offered an experimental drug, not approved by the FDA, because it hadn't gone through clinical trials. I said, I'm your man! They infused me with a multisyllabic, unpronounceable drug. I was fine before administration; sick after. The same E.R. that "infused" me with an untested drug [my sister insisted was a toxic poison] handed her a prescription for Pfizer's PAXLOVID. I was told, You are PATIENT # 1. Hardly encouraging. I see my cardiologist and doctor separately on Sept. 6th and 13th. I will know in two weeks whether I am still a part of the living or dead 'n' stinkin.' Until then, I take one step, push a walker, repeat. Mother of mercy! Is this the end of Q.A.? Who knows?
  5. The distinctive blue circumferential halo is what makes this Morgan special.
  6. [For stealing someone else's thunder. I do not believe this Forum was prepared for surgical strikes delivered in rapid staccato fashion. But does that rise to a Guideline violation? The gentleman's presentation is, at the very least, entertaining. My position has always been, If it is not your cup of tea, by all means scroll away...]
  7. [Ah, it once took me a very long time to figure that out. I was advised to do the same, and refused to, until it occurred to me I was already signed out and had nothing to lose. Moving right along... ladder/ladder is of no moment however, a gaol is a gaol, a prison is a prison. One cannot serve a short gaol term in a prison. That's Penology 101. 🐓 P.S. Welcome back, Frank!]
  8. If this is an indirect suggestion there is merit to my sister's claims the crash of Kennedy's plane bound for Martha's Vineyard was sabotage (patently ridiculous) or all the best doctors in America not in Big Pharma's pocket, were disappeared per plan, I ain't buyin' it!
  9. [Be honest, gentle reader, when's the last time you've encountered venomous invective on the Forum like this? When I discover the precise dividing interval between BM and AM, i.e., before enhanced Moderation, and after, I will make that known. I suspect it was the day Dena Skeffington, presently Website Coordinator, warned: "This stops now!" It had to have been within the past two years. I will find it. Her post has been preserved, in perpetuity.]
  10. I have taken some down time to investigate the link provided by the OP, and must admit I found some of the reviews to be concerning if not downright disturbing. The comments submitted take TPGS-bashing to a whole new level. Whether you prefer one to the other, it behooves you as an educated consumer to explore all sources of information, good, bad or indifferent.
  11. My eternal gratitude to the Moderators for not acceding to mercurial temperaments and fleeting emotions. Let this thread stand as a monument to gentlemanly paticipatory debate and argument. Well done, NGC!

  13. I will say this about this gentleman: I liked him then, and still like him now. [And I thought the member who brandished "band-width" at me was someone else.] Everytime I prospect this thread, I come up with a new jewel or nugget. I am officially moving the thread up, as of today, two increments to 9.2, on a scale of 1 to 10 of the G.O.A.T. As member courtesy dictates, I am inclined to allow @GoldFinger1969's St.-Gaudens thread to continue to set the high bar every topic-poster aspires to: 9.9, recognizing there is a remote possibility a finer thread may exist in an as yet unexplored part of NGC archives.
  14. Really? He posted the Topic, somewhat eye-catching, left twice, threatened to leave again--and vanished. I had always thought he left of his own accord. I will have to continue my dissection of the remaining half of this thread when time (and my wife) allow.
  15. [OK. Times up! Retread guy here. How did we do on those Morgans [if not previously disclosed?]
  16. I can't believe you honored the Forum with a surprise appearance! I'd've thought I'd've had a better shot at having the clerk at the U.S. Supreme Court move my case up a couple of notches on the Miscellaneous docket. Enjoy the holiday weekend! 🐓
  17. Gentlemen of the Forum: Unfortunately, my wife is calling me to bed, and I, the retread man am tired. I have carefully dissected one-half of this thread, which devolved quickly into one big mess. I have no authority to do so, but I am going to declare this thread one of the G.O.A.T., and take the liberty of assigning it a 9, on a scale of 1 to 10, because it is possible a finer thread may exist featuring some of the greatest names in Chat Board history in unimaginably rare and splendid form. All the greats are here; I feel like these are the members I grew up with. For anyone craving a taste of what the Good Old Days were like [before a member declared the site to be "Sleepy Hollow,"] you need go no further than this vintage thread. [Man, I love this thread, and the Moderators for having me!] 🐓
  18. Nowadays, of course, Moderation would deem this to be a violation of Guidelines. That's the beauty of this vintage thread.
  19. Here's another precious gem. [The reference to "he" is me.] I miss this guy, too.
  20. This comment is way too precious to leave unresurrected! Retread guy here, folks, giving an old thread a quick once-over. If I am not mistaken, the word is "secession," a world of a difference in meaning from succession. 🐓
