Doubling? No. Maybe a wee bit o' "spreading out". These hubs and dies were used HARD, unforgivably so.

While I got you here do you mind telling me if you see doubling on the back of the neck of this peace dollar. If so if there is a notable variety

To help you understand the difference between yours a genuine DD, I placed the word LIBERTY together to give you a better understanding.
Note on the genuine DD on the top photo how the letters have thickened on the left side from the Doubling. This is not present on yours. Remember, to be a DD, it has to be exactly the same as the original. Photos are blurry but you should be able to see the difference.
Thanks for that comparison photo. Sometimes I need a smack to remember true double die. I wish there wasn’t so many different kinds of doubling. Only true double die should exist

I have looked for that year nickel and everything looking for a mint error for that coin hoping to find a war time silver nickel on a 1946 non silver. In this case regarding your nickel I am sad to say it is not. Obviously your gonna see a mint mark above the Monticello but circulated silver war nickels will have a Grayish blue color and if you do a unadvised drop test you will hear the sound it has a Loud PING to it. But in your case I say go ahead and give it a drop and then drop a 1944 war nickel and hear the difference

Lol! I had asked for a link to the original and then went and found it on your page but they wouldnt let me delete my comment. So it is what it is. I'll be going to weigh all my Ikes now. Lol! Congrats on your find. That's pretty amazing. Be nice if they tell you what it was struck on in your paperwork.
Tell me about it. I would love to know exactly what it was struck on. Im reading up on different planchet flaws and annealing and alloy mixtures for the last month waiting on these.

Do you weigh every coin or do you just have an "eye" or "feel" for this?
I also weigh a lot of 1983 pennies and 1982 D small date I will never give up looking for that. Seems more realistic to find then a 1943 bronze or something like that

You know I don’t really weigh a whole lot of coins. But Eisenhower dollars are One of the most difficult Coins the mint Has ever minted. So I basically put two and two together. And find myself Examining these coins More than anything else

All right!! Very cool.!! Glad it turned out to be silver!
For the benefit of future readers of this forum, can you go back to your earlier post and post the results? That will keep someone who reads your post years from now from wondering how it turned out
Yes I can

Nice, even got a Cameo grade.
This will certainly end the debate on your earlier post.
Do you think I should’ve sent it to the conservation
Has this 1851 braided hair cent been cleaned?
