What "game"? And you're "changeing" (misspelled) what?

VKurtB got a reaction from Crruisercharlie in I was not aware that we are in the middle of a coin shortage
Okay, I confess, it's me. I caused it. I'm the guy. I have too many coins. It's 1964 all over again. I feel so dirty now.

In my opinion, no phone app I’ve ever seen is good enough.

VKurtB reacted to 1917 in People need to get back to work...
I generally prefer to avoid buying online (although if things keep on going this way, I may very well soon have no choice), but I have noticed that prices have gone up. Probably people looking to move investments from a currently less-than-ideal stock market to something "safe"

I’m too cheap. If a coin runs too high, I’m out. I’m not running, I’m waiting.

VKurtB reacted to RWB in Anyone have a link to facts about the 1794 "SP-66" dollar to be sold in October?
I have not researched 1794 dollars specifically, or early silver coin production in general. I do not intend to. There are others focused on that period of US history. Hopefully someone, somewhere, will accept the challenge and put forth the work of assembling truth. (I recall this was done by a member regarding 1850 or `50-O proof dollars?)
One cannot make meaningful speculations or theorize without having an accurate source for basic facts. The facts define parameters of speculation. For 1794 dollars, much guessing seems to center on the alloy - assumed to be 900 fine silver 100 copper. I understand the reasons for this assumption, but with coins of this importance (NOT "monetary value") and modern non-destructive assay technology, it is almost a malpractice not to have two-decimal place measurement for coin bulk and plug.

Now a 1 from the dime, THAT I’d believe. That leaves “Why?” I can’t imagine.

Brad,
I'm moving to Alabama late this year and intending to join the Madison County Coin Club. The retirement monster approaches. Since I'm moving south to evade snow (I've shoveled my last), that probably means rarely getting to NYINC anymore, but getting to FUN almost every year.

VKurtB got a reaction from Modwriter in Quarter Rolls from bank
For years I lived about 50 miles from the Philly Mint, now more like 100. When I’m in the Deep South I see a healthy mix, but almost exclusively Philly here. Now that I’m in mid-state, I almost never see current year coins anymore. When I go to Philly by train, I almost immediately see new coins everywhere, starting at 30th Street Station.

What are you calling incredibly high? I have purchased 3 of the W 2019 quarters in NGC MS66 and all three were quite reasonable. The 2020’s need some time to come back to reality. The prices are, err, umm, a little “batty”, or “Weir(d).”

I have a Hall’s for you for that nasty cough (says the guy who grew up smelling distance from the Luden’s cough drop plant.)

I frankly don‘t give the slightest rip about what you think about ANY subject, or what you resent. As someone who rescues feral cats, I resent the heck out of all your rants about them. So who cares about what you resent ? Certainly not I. By the way, I am legally trained (I write law) and my best friend is a licensed attorney and we both vehemently disagree with you. I am also aware that the Eastern District of Pennsylvania United States District Count and the Third Circuit found you not to be a credible expert witness. And yes, I do know the why’s of that.
By the way, I have personally witnessed you spouting pure BS at several ANA conventions. But then again, that does put you in fairly numerous company.
I suggest you take up your personal “gripes” about Daniel Carr with ANA Chief Judge Joe Boling, who has said all Carr pieces ARE fine for even competitive exhibit, despite the fact that counterfeits are not. Therefore, Carr pieces are not counterfeits in the eyes of the ANA.
You attacked Mr. Carr‘s membership with a spurious action with the ANA regarding his pieces and the ANA found AGAINST your position and FOR Mr. Carr’s. I am frankly surprised you continue to flap your gums over this.

Roger, you have a well-documented propensity to state a good many things as established fact that are merely your opinion, even here on this board. In most circumstances, I admire that sort of style, but here, you may be misinforming those with less experience.

Not true, Roger. ANACS does indeed authenticate the entirety of the Moonlight catalog, as of the last time I looked, which is admittedly some time ago. I know he’s a well-documented sore point with you. Lots of contentious history, that hadn’t gone well for your attempts to litigate it.
