Nah, gold has too much “mythology” behind it.

@Ratzie33, until you have examined an actual certified one, you just need to STOP THIS NONSENSE!

So the lack of transparency by government officials in Philadelphia doing their public functions is not anything new? Some things never change.

For gawd's sake, do NOT put any monkeys in a sealed environment with that coin. It's cruel.

I’m sorry, but this is getting ridiculous. THESE COINS ARE NOT OUT THERE WAITING TO BE FOUND!!!!! Stop it! They may not even legitimately EXIST. This OP is probably literally clinically insane. “Delusions of grandeur” as a bare minimum.

I NEVER blame the US Mint for these debacles. They are pretty much blameless. There ARE two usual perpetrators - 1) Congress, and 2) the entire "flipper culture". State any kind of mintage limit and WHAMMO the flippers move in. State that it's unlimited and often FAR FEWER are ever sold. Mass hysteria and "quick buck" fever rule the day. It's one of things that ruin this hobby. #ScrewTheFlippers

One possible theory. You say (OP) you’re some sort of coin valuation expert. Many many people in this field believe there is no such thing, and THAT may have ruffled feathers enough over at CT. I am dubious enough about valuation expertise myself, and I’ve been active in numismatics for almost 58 years now. All of that is OPINION, except for an offer and an acceptance, which establishes a price.

I one time used the phrase “armpit licking obsequiousness” in a post. Insider incredulously asked if I really talk that way. Yes, nearly every day, at every opportunity. I most certainly do. Biting vocabulary is my career.
And not only have SEEN tens of thousands of coins, I literally OWN RIGHT NOW tens of thousands of coins and have been collecting for 57 years, since I was 8. Having an unusual vocabulary and being a numismatist are not mutually exclusive. Nor will I ever apologize for displaying either one.
i can even read a George Will piece without a dictionary.

Fortunately, I missed that entire episode when I was what they used to call “AFK” for many days straight. I’m kinda glad, because I might have been tougher on your antagonist than anyone. Being of German descent myself and from a virulent Anti-Nazi family on one side and Swiss pacifists on the other, the charge is one of the most odious ever made. My uncle died two years ago still with Nazi shrapnel in his body.

Unless you appropriately (in his mind) sufficiently genuflected every time Doug the Chief Moderator typed His "Great Indisputable Knowledge and Wisdom From On High", you got banned for that alone, regardless of what anyone here or elsewhere says. Truth.

Once Doug decides he doesn’t like you, you WILL be targeted for banning. It may take awhile, but it WILL happen.

If coins are only what’s keeping you from drinking or gambling, I’d bet $100 you badly need a drink.

What sort of brain-eating parasites are your rabbits harboring? I think a thorough Level 4 biohazard scan may be warranted, my friend. In all seriousness, talk of sudden major changes imminently coming in the hobby does come off sounding a bit unhinged. Be aware of that, and beware.
