So where do we stand does the NGC Registry accept CAC coins at all?

    Hello, @Tatala.

Please read the top of this post which was updated in January. If there are any changes or any news, we will post them there. NGC will make a bigger announcement, also, if/when there are any changes either way. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum, currently any NGC or PCGS graded coin with a green or gold bean can be used in the US coin registry.   The registry will not identify the coin as having a bean and no additional registry points are awarded as was the case in the past.   And unlike the PCGS registry there are no separate sets for coins with CAC beans.   Coins that are graded by CACG are currently not being accepted and cannot currently be used in the NGC US coin registry.

There have been no updates from NGC on this issue for quite some time and all inquiry attempts have gone unanswered by NGC.

    Thank you Ali,

Really appreciate the prompt and informative reply. One other question please. Will NGC accept for submission the ANACS coins to be graded by NGC and, be at least designated as "Teardrop", "D/D", and "S/S" variety regardless of what numeric grade NGC gives each coin?

    Many thanks.

    Robert

    Hello, @Guitar-Czar, Robert.

For submission questions, you will need to contact Customer Service. You may reach them at service@NGCcoin.com or at 1-855-GRADE10 (855-472-3310).  Thank you.

I am respectfully requesting that a slot or group of slots be created in the Standing Liberty Quarter competitive registered sets to accommodate the several "oddities" in the series such as the 1926-S "teardrop" break, the 1928-S/S  and 1928-D/D varieties, to name a few. I have these particular examples graded by ANACS. The 1918/7 is of course already added with significant point value and rightfully so.  Whether or not these other varieties deserve any extra points or not can certainly be debated, but I do believe there should be slots for them for display because they are indeed very interesting additions to the set, as stated by the great J. H. Cline.  Thoughts, opinions, suggestions?

    Thank you. Robert Hardaway III

    Hello, @Guitar-Czar.

The potential addition of any variety slot is considered on a case-by-case basis for each set type. Both the 1928 D/D and the 1928 S/S have a minimal population; the 1926 S Teardrop has a population of only 1. Therefore, none of these varieties would earn separate slots in the NGC Registry. You may create Custom NGC Registry sets if you wish to display each variety separately.

Please note, ANACS coins are not accepted in NGC Registry sets. Thanks very much.

    Hi,

In my registry set, Silver Eagles, 1986-Date, Mint State, Specimen, & Proof (Including Varieties & Special Pedigrees) , I have a 2018 W Eagle 2022 Chicago Ana Releases special pedigree. I thought it would go in the 2022 Chicago Ana Release slot but it didn't. It was placed in the regular 2018 W PF Eagle slot. I do not agree and feel that if it can't go in the 2022 Chicago Ana Release slot, a new slot should be opened saying " 2022 W CHICAGO ANA RELEASES 2018 PF" to recognize this special coin. Here is a picture. Thanks for your help.

    Hello, @J. Antonio.

There is not enough of a population of the 2022 Chicago ANA pedigree to justify adding a separate slot to the variety set. Thank you.

    Thanks

    Hello, @Witless Wizard.

We are separating out the ESSAI and PIEDFORT coins into a separate variety set. Thank you.

Unable to find a set for Byzantine Empire - Ancient. Can one or more be available to this coin?

    NGC 6827316-001

    @MEL's Cache.

Due to their unique nature and highly subjective values, ancient coins are best represented in Custom NGC Registry sets. please read below. Thank you.

  8. Due to their unique nature, rarity, and highly subjective value, ancients are not eligible in competitive NGC Registry sets. If you own any ancient coins, these coins are best represented in Custom sets at Collectors-Society.com.

Many collectors assemble their own sets in unique ways. In fact, s/he may be the only collector ever to assemble a set in exactly that way. Or coins may be so rare that a competition with others is not feasible. So, instead of leaving those unique sets out of the NGC Registry concept, we've created Custom Sets

The Custom Set area of the Registry allows our collectors to create their own set definitions. 1. They define the theme of the set. 2. They define the slots in the set. 3. They plug their own coins into the set with descriptions and pictures.

Users may choose to make their Custom Sets public or keep them private. Custom Sets are also considered for annual NGC Registry Awards.

  9. Hello, @Mama's Secret.

This coin commemorates the 30th anniversary of Australia's first dollar coin. It is in the commemorative section of the NGC census and is therefore eligible in commemorative NGC Registry sets, as well. Thank you.

  11. Hello, @bigmarty 58.

We have been slowly adding Charles III competitive sets as the new issues are released for various countries under the UK umbrella. We need at least three issues to create any new type of competitive set. Please post your certification numbers and request(s) here if you would like to request a new NGC Registry competitive set:
