That is a great coin What would one buy with $5 in 1813? I mean, how were these coins used?
Thats a good question, but it does not look like this one got much use at all.

John super sweet half!

Not quite what I had in mind.

I think your coin has a shot at MS range. Take a look at all the 1921 's out there. All weakly struck and such. I also think it would BB for the black spots on the back.
Can coins be BB for black spots?
Yes they can of if the spots would cause the coin harm longterm.
-
Thanks Winston and Bruce
It is raw and lightly circulated Bruce. Go ahead and grade it for me if you want
IMHO AU

Boiler... Sweet coins! WOWOW! Just WOW!

I gotta get me one of those!!! Do you mind my asking how much you paid?
2 arms and 2 legs! Thats my guess. Super coin!

The Scratch you see is on the slab I can tell you that. This coin seems to have decent luster and a decent strike. Add the color and you land at MS65. Few minor hits not in the focal area are allowed for MS65.

I like the 1948 S. Nice looking coin. MS65?

Four dollars! The guy might as well have given it away.
This is very true. He said he had some more coins. I will be back there next week to check what he has!
-
This one cost me a whole $4.00... I stole the coin for that price!!
-
those are 2 very nice halfs! Very cool.
