Now THAT is a dook machine right there!  I really wouldn't be surprised if you did need a machine that big to clean up after hippos.........they muckspread a lot from what I understand.  And then, at a zoo, you still have rhinos, elephants...the list goes on!  It's also interesting to know that the Seattle Zoo finds a new life for its dooks......recycling is very important :)

I've seen an Elephant peeing at the Zoo, I swear, it looks like a fire hose going full blast.

    Hi TON,

No worries.  That was honestly the last one and I really only typed that because I wanted to talk about hippos muckspreading on a message board and this was my chance.  Sometimes, I have a weird sense of humor(:.  I'm done with it for real this time, my friend.  I'm just going back to doing what I do.....talking to you guys about coins!  BTW.....your 1982-D Small Date does have an interesting look to it, but sadly I still think it's zinc with the weight.  But, if you're building a little set of cents in a Whitman folder, that coin would be a great one for it!

I am now going to go to Youtube and find a video of a hippopotamus muckspreading, I need the complete visual to really appreciate the genius of your response in its fullest glory.

Poor quality modern counterfeit of an 8 reals. Not sure what is it supposed to be. It was clearly struck in a close necklace (flat smooth edge and the edge markings applied post strike) which the genuine pieces were not.

For some reason the site is changing the spelling of the denomination, and the word "collar" to necklace.

I have a couple of these, the surfaces on the one pictured are too uniform, looked like a fake even without the weighing or the view of the edge.  Probably available for sale in numerous Florida souvenir stands.

I don't buy it.  Not one bit.  He could have gotten that picture anywhere online and posted it here. There's no proof that it's actually his coin.  Here's my 1913 Liberty Nickel which is the finest known:

It's so rare and valuable!  I found it myself and sent it in to PCGS!! I'm such a skilled collector and I know everything!

And here's the truth of the matter:

    Like I said before.  Troll.

But he is such an unskilled troll, it just makes you laugh everytime there is a new post.  All right, I have to quit this thread, I am just a lurker, I am just a lurker.  (:

I can't wait to see the results from this......this guy is either a troll or he's the absolute worst numismatist I've ever seen.  I'm hoping for troll because it actually depresses me to think that someone could be so consistently unskilled at collecting and evaluating coins.  I guess we'll know if he posts results.  If he doesn't, definite troll.

I suspect Absolute Worst Numismatist Ever,

They do have a high amusement value if you're just a lurker.

No matter what Bob did, how Wolfe responded to it was far worse.  No one should be threatened with violence because someone doesn't like what they say, especially over something that is relatively trivial, like a coin.

I absolutely agree, that's why I also said that NGC should punish Wolfe75, there is never a need to threaten violence over such a little thing.

  7. First of all, if you do not believe the backstory on Wolfe75's original post, a mature person will leave that part of it alone and simply respond to the actual coin in question.  To disparage the backstory, even if you think it is all bull tacos, is just bullying and inappropriate.  I also believe that Wolfe75's threat is inappropriate and should be cause for some punitive action by NGC.   Grow Up Everyone, it's just a coin, it's not in any way, shape, or form, important in the grand scheme of things.

  8. Even the grimiest Coin tends to look shinier after the squishing process.  Unless there is a mention of rarity or potential investment benefit in her copy, I don't see any harm in her cleaning her product before the squish.  Mentioning it might make numismatists squirm, but dedicated elongated collectors probably appreciate her thoughtfulness.

I also enjoy the Liberty Seated coinage, beautiful design and it covers an interesting span of history.  If your not I would recommend becoming a member of the LSCC, great organization for fans of the seated series.

I am seriously considering joining LSCC, a powerpoint for their site recently provided proof that my 1861-O SS Republic Half Dollar was in fact a CSA issue.  I am a big fan of the Liberty Seated design in general.

The OP coin is nowhere close to looking like a real one.  The first thing that jumpsout at you is the bust is too small.

Liberty also appears to have a slightly angry, vice serene, expression.   Too many differences to even list.
