Can anyone fill me in on what I'm missing? Why is that in an MS63 holder? I only see two abrasions on the obverse, one on each leg. There is a bit of chatter on the lower shield rivets, and the head is not full, but that's about it. The reverse has a small "dig" in the left field. But, the luster is strong, and the strike is superb for 1919 as far as I can tell. Again, this isn't my series, but I'm seeing MS64 or slightly better.

Nothing too exciting, but using some of my newps to improve my photography skills.

Picked this one up about a week ago. It has a completely PL obverse, and a pretty amazing reverse to boot! And, it was $11.98 including postage!

Brg what is the grade on that Jeff? Looks amazing!!
It is graded MS67 by NGC. No FS, as there is a nick on the left and some chatter in the middle. The clean and nick free obverse is what caught my attention at first.

In hand, I bet that coin is quite attractive. In the TrueView, it looks neon and ridiculous.
I agree with Jason. That's a stellar coin, despite what appears to be a PCGS saturation boost problem. Look forward to seeing your pics Bob.

I picked this one up about a week ago, and it arrived today. It was a fun coin to image with my new setup (see thread here).

Today in the mail I got my new bellows and a new lens that let me create my first focus stacked photograph. The image was created by combining 5 images taken a different focusing points. I hope to explore this more in the near future. Below are my new toys and my first picture with the new equipment.

I have changed my photo set up and my lights. Here is my newest type set coin reimaged.
What set up do you have now? What type of lights?

I use a Canon 50D with OttLite lighting. I'm currently using a Tamron telephoto lens. It's not optimal, but it has a good macro focusing range (but somewhat poor glass). I'm waiting for my bellows and adapters to arrive to set up properly for macro photography. The Otts made a big difference for the imaging, but I still need to build a proper mounting bracket for the lamps so I have more control of their positioning. It's been a fun learning process...

Hardtimes, that is BEAUTIFUL! I have been looking for one of those for some time for my horse collection. For now I just have to admire yours. If you ever care to part with that beauty, I am definitely interested!
Cheers,

I added this one to my horse-themed set today. It's a "wow" coin in hand. I'm very pleased with it, and the horse look is quite different from the other Hannover coins I have in my set. This Saxon Steed rendition is quite a bit more emaciated and I really like the flowing hair! It's a hard one to photograph, as the little guy is only about the size of a US dime.
