Passing on a collection from one collector to another
First off I would like to wish everyone a Happy and Safe New Year. I would like to take a moment to thank a collector who I was very blessed to do business with this year. I won't mention him by name because I am not sure if he would want me too, but due to circumstances this collector placed his trust in me to buy the majority of his Lincoln Memorial collection. All I can say is how honored I am to give these coins a new home and how blessed I am to have met him. I have a few more coins to add and when all is said and done this will place my Lincoln Memorial Collection in the #3 position. It will be my goal this coming year to keep it in the top 5. I was not able to work on my Lincoln Wheat collection as much this past year and I still have some ugly coins in that collection I need to replace. All in all I was very blessed this year and I look forward to the New Year. I will begin taking pictures of my new additions soon and hopefully will have some pictures posted. Please take some time to check out my sets and I wish you all the best in 2011. Happy collecting

1998 Type 2 Wide AM NGC MS 66
Hi everyone. One of my goals at the beginning of this year was to finish with my Lincoln Memorial Registry set in the top 10 at the end of the year. My most recent addition has temporarily placed me in 8th amongst these sets. I have a few more sleeper coins that I will be looking for this year that hopefully will keep me in the top 10. I hope you enjoy the picture and always thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

Nice NGC close up picture-Population of 41
Hi everyone. After I registered this coin and posted pictures that the seller provided NGC posted this close up picture into my set that they had on file for this coin. Nice close details of the doubling of the ears. Just added a few more coins in the last couple of days. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

1984 NGC MS68 Double Die Obverse Lincoln Memorial
Finally, ownership has been transferred on my latest Lincoln Memorial purchase. Here it is. A very nice example of this particular Lincoln error date coin. I was able to pick this one up for $400 below list. This temporarily places me in the top 10 for 1959-Present Lincoln Memorial sets. That was one of goals for this year was to finish with this set in the top 10 at the end of the year. I have a couple of sleeper coins that I will be keeping an eye out for. Well, I am glad I was finally able to post some pictures of this one. Hope you enjoy. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    Not Dan Hartman's Hit
Hi everyone. I just recently purchased the newest coin for my Lincoln Memorial Set. And yes, you guessed it, I got the dreaded message saying the coin is already registered and the previous owner has 1 week and then the coin will be transferred. Now normally I would patiently wait, but in this case I am so excited I can't stand it. The Lincoln I bought is not the most expensive in my set nor does it have the lowest population but it does have the highest point value of any in my set so far. It is a beautiful NGC MS68 and top population for that year. As soon as ownership is transferred I will post pictures to share with all of you. I won't reveal the date until then but if you know your music trivia the year this song was a hit might give you a hint. In the mean time, I Can Dream About You. Happy Collecting

    Tales from the Post Office
After all the recent post about problems with shipping and receiving coins through the US Post Office and the known mismanagement that plagues it I decided to go down and purchase a 100 rolls of the Forever stamps and place them in my safe. I figure in 10 years if the USPS still exist then stamps will be about $5 each. I could sell mine for $2.50 and make a fortune. Of course I am joking, but it is a thought. Happy Collecting

    NGC MS67 1971 Lincoln Memorial
Hi everyone. Raining and cool in Florida today and I was just listening to some Queen and working on my sets. Well another coin bought and another slot Bites the Dust. This is my latest addition to my Lincoln Memorial Set. This was also purchased using money from my recent coin sale. Off to a good start this year and I am looking forward to establishing my goals I set for myself. Freddie Mercury-you rocked on in life and you rock on in death. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    And a touching tribute
Hi everyone. Here is a picture of my latest addition to my Lincoln Memorial Set. Point value is not that great towards my registry set but with a low population of 9 at this level by NGC and none graded higher hopefully that will change over time. Also I would like to take a moment and say that a recent post from Bammer paying tribute to his parents was very touching and appropriate. I think there are a lot of us collectors out there who can thank our parents for instilling the passion to collect coins. Bammer you should be very proud of your parents. As always thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    Another nice Lincoln Memorial
Hi everyone. Well, I was able to sell my first lot of coins from my recent estate find. I was made an fair offer and I accepted it. With part of the profits I purchased this Lincoln Memorial for my registry set. I still have a lot more stuff to go through and of course I will be reinvesting the rest into my registry sets. I will set some aside for when the new Presidential Dollars come out. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    Small hoard of coins
Hi everyone, for those of you that know me you know I mainly collect Lincoln Cents for my registry collections. I am a disable veteran, so yes funds are always a concern when looking for new additions. I go to a lot of estate sales here in Florida looking for coins, autographs and collectibles and every once in a while you find a surprise. I went to a sale not too long ago and notice a collections of coins and currency. I briefly glanced over the items since I did not want to draw too much attention to them and I approached the gentleman in charge and ask him what he would consider crazy money for the lot. I learned a long time ago never too make the initial offer, let the seller put the number out and go from there. He told me crazy money would be $150.00 and I offered him $125.00 and we made a deal. After I got the items home and started going through them I was amazed at how well I did. I have one small lot on Ebay for sale under 061084greg. This one small lot alone has about $1100.00 in bullion value. I have so much more to go through still. Of course what ever profit I make will go back into my Lincoln registry sets so stayed tuned to see what I add next. I am still going through the rest of it a cannot believe all the stuff. WOW. Sometimes we get lucky. Keep looking you never know what you might find. Happy Collecting

    A nice mint red gem
Hi everyone. First off I would like to congratulate all of this years winners. It is great to see who was recognized for their collecting and journalistic endeavors. As many of you know I started really working on my Lincoln registry sets this past year. I sold off an entire set of MS 70 $5 American Gold Eagles last year to pursue my first passion. This is my latest addition to my Lincoln Wheat Cents. Nice mint red gem. My goals this year are to be in the top 10 for 34-58 Lincolns and top 10 for 59-Present. This time next year I will see how I did. Again, congrats to all this past years winner and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting.

Wow, I was fortunate enough to acquire this 1982 Small Date Zinc NGC MS68 recently for my Memorial Collection. I have recently been concentrating on upgrading all of my Lincoln Sets and saw this one for sale. Very low population of 18. I hope you enjoy the pictures and thanks for looking.

    Not Buffalo Springfield's 1967 Song
Yes, this is a protest. There's something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear. Recently one of the society members wrote a journal about bidding on coin lots on some internet auction sites that just up and disappear. Well, this just recently happened to me and i am going to name names. About a week ago I participated in TeleTrades coin auction for that night. Now, in the last month and a half I have spent about $5000 on their auction site upgrading my Lincoln Registry sets. On this particular night I was bidding on 2 minor date Lincolns that I had tracked for about a week prior to the auction. They both had bids on them and at the very end I placed bids on both of them. Then, magically those lots disappear. TeleTrade states that if lots do not show up in the past price realized list that those coins did not meet a reserve or the consignor bought them back. Ok, whatever. These 2 coins had bids including my own that were more than what any consignor would pay too buy them back and absolutely high enough bids for them both too sell outright. Gone, poof, disappeared. What happened too them. For a major auction house that sells hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of coins each week they should be a little more forthcoming. If that happens on minor coins, what else could be going on behind the scenes. I hope someone sees this and passes the concerns of collectors along too this particular company. Paranoia strikes deep, into your life it will creep, it starts when you're always afraid, you step out of line, the man come and take you away. Step up TeleTrade, For What It's Worth

    Doctored photographs
Hi everyone, as a lot of you know I have been working hard on all my Lincoln Penny Registry sets and I have had a lot of help and friendly competition and met some new friends as well. I bought a coin the other day from Ebay that was encased in a PCGS holder and the seller provided very detailed close-ups of the coin and all looked good. Now the close-ups are similar too the ones that you would find on TeleTrades auction site. Let me also say right now that the coin was not bought from TeleTrade. Anyways, I got the coin in the mail and I thought I had a case of Lyin' Eyes because there was a nice dark spot, like a carbon spot that was visible with the naked eye that is nowhere to be seen on the close-up picture. I even looked at it closely and it is the same coin because all the other nicks and flaws are there. After looking at the close-ups again you can see a light area underneath the 79 that looks washed out and that is right where the black spot is. Needless to say I am not very happy. It goes to show that even someone that has a 100% Ebay rating can still be a snake in the grass. Talk soon and Happy Collecting

    Population of 22
Hello again everyone. Here is the most recent addition to my Lincoln Memorial set. This is the coin I have waited for a week for ownership too be relinquished so I could add it to my set. Remove your coin/coins from your registry
How often have you bought a new coin that you were very excited to add to your registry set only to find out that the coin is still registered or ownership of that coin still belongs to someone else? Then you get the dreaded message that it will take up to a week unless the previous owner relinquishes the coin. If you sell or cosign your coin for sale, please take the time to do so. In the mean time I will be singing Please Release Me, Let Me Goooo. Take Care and Happy Collecting

Hi everyone, here is another addition to my Lincoln Memorial set that I recently acquired. I have been adding to all of my Lincoln set for those of you who have read my recent journals. I still feel the same joy that I did as a child every time I find a new coin for my collection. Isn't it fun. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting.

    What a Pretty Penny
Here is one of my latest additions to my Lincoln Memorial set. This is by far my lowest population penny of any date. Not the greatest point value as far as slot scores go but I think it more than makes up for that due to its extremely low population of 6. I will be adding some more photos to all my Lincoln sets this week so check back when you can. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting.

    Blast Red
Wow, once again I was able to pick up and add another top population Lincoln Memorial Cent to my registry set. I paid 66% under list price for this coin. I don't know if this is due to the market or if only a few of us were watching this coin when it came up for sale. Will be adding more to all my Lincoln Sets as I get them in and I hope you enjoy the pictures. As always, thanks for looking. Have a great day.

    Full Red
Here is another nice Lincoln that I just recently purchased and added to my set. I have been fortunate enough to recently start adding to all my Lincoln Sets and they are the coins I have the most passion for as it is what I originally started collecting over 45 years ago at the flea markets. Thanks for looking
