NGC has graded 3546 examples of the 1955 Double Die Obverse Lincoln Wheat cent.  Out of those NGC has graded only 2 at MS66.  One example at MS66RD and one example at MS66RB.  Big price difference between the two coins.  I used to own the MS66RB example.  At one time I had all the major double die obverse and reverse Lincoln cents in my collection including a PCGS MS66RD+ 1972 Double Die Obverse Lincoln Cent and an awesome example of a NGC MS67RD example of that same coin that KKM sold me many years ago.  As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

Yes, $2.00 in Lincoln cents made it happen
Hi Everyone. Well, this may come as a shock to a lot of people but this past week I sold off my entire Lincoln cent collection too pursue a dream. $2.00 worth of Lincoln cents is basically what my collection consisted of. The MS66RB 1955 DDO was just one of the many highlights that use to be mine. I also had all the modern major doubled die obverse and reverse Lincoln cents in top grade. i had been wanting a piece of land for most of my life where I could go a relax and enjoy life with family and friends. With grown children and now 3 grandsons it is a place that we all can go enjoy. The coins would of been passed on too my kids if I had died and would of been sold by Heritage Auction. Recently a piece of land in north Florida surrounded by 1000s and 1000s of acres of private timber land became available for sale that a couple had had for a very long time that they put their heart and soul into. They are up in age now and it had become too much for them. It has the creature comforts of home in the middle of some amazing wilderness. We have trail cameras up and we have whitetail deer, wild hogs, eastern turkeys and Florida black bears, alligators, coyotes and all the other wildlife you would expect and yes we can hunt during legal season. The night skies are awe inspiring and the sunrises are gorgeous. i want too take a moment and thank everyone on here that has followed me and encouraged me during this collecting journey. Some really amazing people on here and I am blessed too have met some of you in person and too call you my friend. My local coin store arranged the sale of my collection for me and I can say that the owner had always been a top notch dealer and collector and he had a serious buyer come in and made a deal. The buyer really was impressed with my 1959-Date business strike Lincoln set which has been ranked #1 for several years now and also the fact that I had a #1 set in all the modern business strike registry sets that the coins would fit into. It has been a great ride and I have really enjoyed it. The coins listed will vanish soon as I remove them from my collection. I am going too leave you with a totally different picture here at the end. I mentioned the wild hogs that are on the land. This is a lower tusk from one. It measures 10 inches from end too end. Time too enjoy myself with some pork BBQ Thanks everyone and always thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

A big shout out too all of my fellow collectors who supported me.
Hi everyone. I would like too congratulate all of the 2015 registry Award winners. Great job. I was blessed too have won my share of registry awards for my former collection of Lincoln 1959-Present Lincoln circulation issue small cents. KKM, Jay Church and Sheila Moore you should be proud of your collections. It took me longer to catch Jay Church over the last several years than any of the other categories. A big congrats too him. 10 years of working on my former collection and 22 registry awards later and the only one too have placed 1st in all 4 of the circulation issue Lincoln cent categories I decided too sell my Lincoln collection in May of 2015 to buy some property in the north part of my home state of Florida with a fellow disable veteran friend of mine. I would like to share just some trail camera pictures from our property. These are just trail camera pictures of some of the wild game on our property. None of them are harvest pictures, but hunting is one of the reason we bought the land. We have white tail deer, Florida black bears, eastern turkeys and wild hogs, which are an invasive non native animal in all of the United States, frogs, fish, gators and so much more. All together I had just over $2.00 in face value in my collection. The pictures hopefully tell you how happy I am too have sold this collection. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collection

    Some really good pictures
Hi everyone. This will be my final post so I wish everyone the best. Most of you know that I collected Lincoln cents. After placing all 4 of my modern 1959-date business strike Lincoln cents this past year, which was the first time a collection had received #1 in the registry sets or tied, I sold my entire collection earlier this year. Do I miss collecting coins, YES, but every time I am at my property that I bought my smile is much bigger. I know some of my fellow collectors bought some of my former collection and I am happy for you. Top population coins are hard too come by and I am glad that some found good homes. Thank you too all who encouraged, educated and supported me over the last nine years. I leave with a few pictures of my former coins. As always, thank you for looking and Happy Collecting.

    Kind of like my collection
Hi Everyone. It has been several months since my last post announcing the sale of my Lincoln cent collections. I have been enjoying the property I bought in north Florida with the proceeds of that sale. Whitetail deer, eastern turkeys, Florida black bears and monster hogs aplenty. Although I sold the majority of my coin collections, I have always been a collector of some sorts since I was a child. Recently I received a package out of the blue from one of the major auction houses with a surprise inside. the note told me how much they missed my business and this was a gift from them. Odyssey Marine Exploration out of Tampa, Florida recovered an amazing amount of coins and artifacts from the sidewheel steamship SS Republic which sank as it was off the coast of Georgia en route to New Orleans during hurricane in October of 1865. This is what I received as a gift. It is a master ink bottle with pouring spout. It was used to hold bulk ink prior to being poured into an inkwell. You can still see some of the crust on the inside of the bottle. Brought back from the depths of obscurity. Wish I could write my next journal entry with an old fashion ink pen and some ink from this bottle. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    CAC certified
Hi Everyone. Here are 2 new additions too my collection from Heritage Auctions from last week. The first is a NGC MS67* 1943 S Lincoln Wheat Ear small cent CAC certified and the second is a NGC MS67 1943 Lincoln Wheat Ear small cent CAC certified. The 1943 S I will send back into NGC in the future because of the scuffing on the holder. They both are really nice looking coins in hand. I hope you enjoy them both and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

Look what came in the mail today
When the mail lady rang the doorbell I was a little surprised that she had something for me to sign for. Was not expecting any deliveries. I saw the envelope was from the ANA (American Numismatic Association). I had no idea what it could be. Well, too my surprise, it was my 3rd place medal for my 1958-2008 Lincoln Memorial circulation issue registry set from the ANA show from last year in Atlanta. Yes, from 2014. It was a little bit of numismatic happiness out of the blue. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

17 out of 18 CAC certified.
Hi Everyone. It has been awhile since my last post. I just recently added this NGC MS67RD 1941 Lincoln Wheat Ear cent to my 34-58 Lincoln registry set which puts me at 25% complete for the set. About 5 years ago when I sold off my 34-58 set it was at the time the #3 set. I decided to sell it off for a couple of reasons. First off, a lot of the coins that I had at the time had either slightly toned or just did not look all that good to me. Secondly I sold the set to pursue my 1959-Date Lincoln circulation issue registry set. When I started this set again I decided that I was going to try and get as many of them CAC certified by sending them into CAC or picking them up through various auction sites. So far 17 out of 18 coins in this set are CAC certified. This is just a personal preference for me. I have had some good luck sending some in and the rest of course I purchased already certified. I will continue to try and add them as I come across those nice examples that will meet or already have met CACs standards. I hope you enjoy my latest addition and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    1996 D MS68PL Lincoln Memorial.
It has been a very interesting year for me. If you follow me or like Lincoln small cents then you know that is what I collect. This is a NGC MS68RD PL Lincoln Memorial. NGC has graded approximately 417 examples with 89 graded MS68RD and this lone example at MS68RD PL (proof like) with none graded higher. Wishing all of you the best this coming year and as always, Thanks for Looking and Happy Collecting

    Only 8 graded at MS67RD
Hi everyone. Well, I had hope too add this one before the cutoff for the NGC registry sets but it did not come up for auction until the day after. For the longest time I had a PCGS MS66+RD example CAC certified in this slot. i bought this coin for a decent price back then and had it sent into CAC. Of course I had hoped to upgrade this coin someday. I had not seen a NGC example come up for auction in over 8 years. The last 4 PCGS MS67RD examples that came up for auction sold for between $8500 and $12000. Even with buyer fees this one was a lot less. PCGS grades 24/0 in MS67RD, NGC grades 8/0 in MS67RD and CAC certifies 3/0 in MS67RD. Even though I spent almost all of next years coin budget I am very pleased. I hope you enjoy my latest addition and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    CAC certified
These 2 recent additions were both recently certified by CAC and I added them too my collection. Sorry about the picture quality. Using my phone camera until they are sent off too be photographed. The scratches are on the holders. NGC MS67RD 1941 D and NGC MS67RD 1955 S Lincoln Wheat Ear cents CAC certified. I have had some success so far with coins sent into CAC and a few others I bought and added to my collection. Might have 1 more submission too go in by the end of the year. I hope you enjoy my newest additions and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

NGC MS67 1943 D Lincoln Wheat Ear cent CAC certified
Hi Everyone. With addition of this coin and a few others I have climbed back into the top 50 in the 34-58 Lincoln Wheat Ear cent circulation issued registry sets. Some of you that follow me know that I did have this particular set as high as #3 a few years back. I made a decision at that time too sell the majority of that set off too pursue my 59-Date set. There were some in that set that I that I did have some sellers remorse but sometimes you have too take some risk too make gains. This time around I have been scouring all of the auction sites trying too find coins that I think will be certified by CAC or ones that have already been certified by CAC. I have bought 6 coins that when sent in so far too CAC have been certified and 2 that already were certified and one more submission by the end of the year from ones yet too be sent in and the ones I buy by then. It is going too be a long road too get back into the top 5 within this set but I have made it a goal too do so. Even harder if I do it with just NGC graded coins. I have made it a goal as well too buy ones that have not been certified by CAC and send them in too be certified. It really has helped me in looking at all the available coins and determining which one out of all is a solidly graded coin. This is my latest CAC addition too my set. NGC MS67 1943 D Lincoln Wheat Ear cent CAC certified. I hope you enjoy the coin and as, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    Another CAC certified coin
Hi Everyone. About 6 years ago I had a top 5 34-58 Lincoln Wheat Ear circulation set. I sold the majority of that set intact too use the proceeds too pursue other coins. Just started too rebuild this set about 9 months ago. I have been trying too buy coins that I think would pass CAC standards. Out of the 15 coins I have sent in so far 7 have met CAC standards. This NGC MS67RD 1946 D Lincoln Wheat Ear just passed yesterday. Pretty tough too buy a coin from an on line site and judge if it will meet their standards. Trying too learn what will make it and what will not. I hope you enjoy the coin and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    Close up picture
Hi Everyone. This summer has been hot in the Sunshine State. Heading from my hometown here in Florida to the Summer FUN Show next week. If you have never had a chance too attend the January or Summer FUN Shows you should make plans too attend. FUN stands for "Florida United Numismatist" and was founded in 1955. A couple of great shows too attend. I recently purchased this NGC PF68*RD 1971 S Doubled Die Obverse FS-102 Lincoln Memorial and I wanted too post a close up view taken with my cheap digital camera. I will also post Heritage Auctions view. This is a result of a class II distorted hub doubling. Very strong doubling can be seen in "LIBERTY" and in "IN GOD WE TRUST" and in Lincoln's portrait. Stay safe and have 'FUN" this Summer. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

1st one graded MS67RD for this year
Hi Everyone. Please be respectful as far as your thoughts and comments on CAC. I recently had some coins sent off too CAC by a fellow CS member for me. They were all Lincoln Wheat Ear cents between 1934-1958. My NGC MS67RD 1946 Lincoln Wheat Ear cent filled in I believe the last vacant slot that did not have a coin sticker at MS67RD between 1934-1958. They are tough on Lincolns. I had a few more that sticker as well between 34-58. Kind of cool too fill in the last vacant non doubled die slot. A big thanks too a fellow CS member. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

How much can 7 cents be worth
Hi everyone. I just picked up my latest addition to my Double Vision Lincoln Cent Collection this past weekend from the Heritage Auction. Here is my NGC PF68*RD 1971 S FS-102 doubled die obverse Lincoln Memorial. I have been looking too add this coin for a long time and the opportunity finally came up. The last example of this coin that I can find auction records on was an example sold by TeleTrade back in September 2009 which was a PF68RD without the star designation which sold for $1750.00. I was really surprised that I was able too pick this star example up for $650.00. Not sure if it just slipped by everyone's attention but I am very pleased. Strong doubling can be seen in "LIBERTY" and in "IN GOD WE TRUST". This is a gorgeous example that now resides in my custom set of doubled die Lincoln's. If you would like too check this set out you can click on the attached link at the end of the post to see some top graded doubled die examples. NGC MS69RD 1986 D Lincoln Memorial population 3/0
Hi Everyone. I want to take a moment too give a Big Thank you to a fellow collector and my friend Michael Prescott (VUMC409). I recently acquired this coin from Michael. It is a NGC MS69RD 1986 D Lincoln Memorial with a current population of 3/0. It was not all that long ago that Michael added this coin to his collection and shared his excitement with me. Between Michael and our friend Donald Garrett, who passed away just before the FUN Show in January, we could not wait to share our newest additions with each other. Due to circumstances in Michael's life which he touch on in one of his latest journals he had to sell some of his collection off. I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to add the coins that I bought from you too my collection and for trusting me enough to make sure they found a good home. You have been a friend and mentor too me. I hope you enjoy my picture and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    Wexler WDDR-002 Die Variety
Hi everyone. I just recently completed my 2009 Life of Lincoln circulation issue registry set which surprisingly took me the longest to complete in the top grades possible. I just recently added the 2009 Formative Years too my set in the grade of NGC MS68RD of which NGC has only graded 18 so far. When I received the coin in had I noticed it was one of the 10 different die varieties that Wexler has recognized. NGC has not recognized these yet but I hope they will in the future. Here is a close up of my coin and it is a Wexler WDDR-002 die variety. You can see the filled in area below the thumb and the point sticking out from the first forefinger at the joint. Pretty neat find on 1 of the 18 coins graded MS68RD by NGC so far. I hope you enjoy my picture and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

Hi everyone. Not sure if most of you know that NGC has a coin of the day post on their Face Book page where they display some amazing coins each day. Today they used my NGC MS66RB 1955 Doubled Die Obverse Lincoln Wheat Cent for their coin of the day. Here is the link. Numismatic Guaranty Corporation - NGC

    Makes my eyes hurt
Hi Everyone. It has been awhile since I posted. I just created my first custom set "The Doubled Vision Lincoln Cent Collection" and I wanted to share it. Recently I acquired one of only 2 1955 Doubled Die Lincoln's graded NGC MS66. One is graded in MS66 Red and my example in MS66 Red Brown. With the addition of that coin and my NGC MS68RD 2009 Formative Years which although NGC does not recognize this variety yet it is a Wexler WDDR-002 die variety. NGC has only graded 18 coins in MS68RD for the 09 Formative Years out 0f 27,000 graded so far. Pretty nice too have this die variety on 1 of the 18 MS68RD example that NGC has graded so far. Also in this set is my PCGS MS66+ 1972 Doubled Die Obverse, NGC MS68RD 1984 Doubled Die Obverse (Doubled Ear), NGC MS69RD 1995 Doubled Die Obverse and my NGC MS68RD 1983 Doubled Die Reverse which is shown here. I am also attaching a oink too this set as all the details of the set are there along with some amazing pictures from my friend Robec who has taken all the pictures except the 1955 DDO. I hope you enjoy the set and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/WCM/CoinCustomSetView.aspx?s=15326

    What a blast
Hi everyone. Got home late last night from the ANA Money Show in Atlanta. What an amazing show. I was there too display my Lincoln Memorial registry set for the 1st time in a competitive display and I received a 3rd place ribbon in the historical and political category. I was very pleased. I learned a lot from this show. One thing for sure it is not the value of your display but how it is presented so that the general public can walk in and understand what you are displaying. You can tell that folks spend a lot of thought and time on how they convey their message. The displays were incredible. I will certainly try again. I am sure by now most of you have heard about the California couple who found a large hoard of gold coins while out walking their dog on their property. A large portion of this find was sent into PCGS for certification and this is just one picture of what is now being referred too as the Saddle Ridge Hoard. It is an 1876 S $20 gold piece graded MS64. I believe PCGS has only graded 3 at this level with 1 graded higher. Pretty amazing. Without the historical connection this coin list for $41,000. The coins ranged in date from the late 1840s through the late 1890s and look as if they were stored as soon as they came from the bank. WOW.. They had some $20 gold pieces that I saw graded MS66. It was a fun time in Atlanta and I look forward too going again. I hope you enjoy the picture and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    I will be there
Hi everyone. I hope all of you are well. Starting today the American Numismatic Association (ANA)Money Show will kick off in Atlanta, Georgia. The main portion of the show will start this Wednesday. After attending my first coin show at the January FUN Show and displaying some of my coins I decided that I would set up a competitive coin display at the Money Show. I am really looking forward too this and meeting some old friends and some new. It looks like the weather in Atlanta this week will be a little cold but hopefully no snow. I will post some updates from the show and if your going to be there I bid you safe travels. This is just one of the coins I will have on display at the show. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

    New sets being added
Hi everyone. I hope everyone is staying safe and warm with all this cold weather we are having. Even here is the sunshine state we have been experiencing some unusually cold weather this year. Most of you who follow me know that I am mostly a Lincoln cent collector. After completing my 1959-date Lincoln circulation issues set I was looking for a new direction to go in. At one time I did have a very nice short set 34-58 wheat ear. I sold the majority of those off at one time to pursue other goals. I had been wanting to start this set up again and finally took the plunge. I would like to present my first addition to my renewed 34-58 set. Here is my NGC MS66RB 1955 DDO. NGC has graded nearly 4000 1955 DDOs and out of that amount only 31 have been graded MS65. That is 14 brown, 14 red brown and 3 red. Only 2 have been graded at MS66, 1 red and this red brown example. I passed on this coin last year when TeleTrade had it up for auction. They had some of the worst possible pictures of this coin which did not do it any justice. Both the obverse and reverse have taken on some wonderful toning that exhibit undertones of gold, pink and apricot. The coin is devoid of any major detracting blemishes. This of course will be my once in a lifetime coin. I hope you all enjoy my latest addition. I also want to take a moment to congratulate all of 2013s registry award winners. We have an amazing society. Keep up the great work. As always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting
