  1. You started a nasty negative thread to bashed a man that you don't even know. His name is Peter and he is a member here and CU and most coin forums from the start of the net. He has done nothing but good for this hobby. Did you know that he sold his coin collection to build the CT site and the cost still come out of his pocket. There is no money made. The site runs in the red. Maybe you should be the one to keep your lack of vision and lack of inspiration to yourself.
  2. We have lost the war against counterfeit coins. Even if you win a civil case the court cost are too great and you have to go back to court to even try to collect on it. The criminal courts are of little help because of the reasons that Kurt already posted.
  3. More than a tad tough. It was very pointed. Just like the OPs title and post in this thread. Using this site to bash a different forum should come with details. The OP decided to ignore the details and request and changed the topic. If CT gives you the boot, you know what you said and the reason you were banned. Not sharing that information brings up many questions. Doug is very pointed and has a strong opinion but he takes the time to explain his opinions. Not saying he is always right but none of us are. I have been told to cool my jets a few times over there and I follow those directions. I knew I was testing the rules and shut my mouth. I'm good with saying I was wrong and moving on.
  4. It sounds like a scam to me. Probably why CT gave you the boot.
  5. It won't be any better than what is already out there. It's just going to be another price guide.
  6. This came to me raw from a Bowers auction about 25 years ago. PCGS graded it in 2006. What would you grade it and what would you guess it would bring at auction today.
  7. Maybe you could shed some light. Give us the rest of the story.
  8. There is more to this story. Did you have more than one user name? Did you get banned and join again under a new user name? What names did you use there? I person has to try really hard to get banned on CT. I can't agree with you without knowing all the facts. Please give us all the information.
  9. Even in the early days of this site, I can't remember any heavy moderation here. The mods only get involved when things get really nasty or someone clearly breaks the rules. I'm sure that is not going to change. Our own actions are the only thing that would create such a change. Lets all be sure to not make the mods have to break up fights and that we keep things friendly.
  10. We have members that don't understand the rules and need to be reported.
  11. Skip. I don't think many will care to play your games any longer. I'll play but several already have you on ignore and won't see your post. You might get more replies if you started a new fresh thread.
  12. There are many ways to teach. More will learn from a fun and friendly teacher. Being abrasive drives folks away and they quit posting. People don't come here to fight, they come here to have fun and get away from other stuff in life.
  13. I'm able to see threads back to 2006 but many threads are missing.
  14. Brandon Sorry your thread went so far off track. It started off great. I agree 100% with what you have posted. It's what I was teaching over 40 years ago, back in the film days. The same rules hold true today even with the cool equipment we now have to work with. Tilting the coin takes away from the quality that's possible. There are times where the slab needs to be tilted a tiny bit because the coin is not parallel to the plastic slab. The coin needs to be parallel with the lens.
